Anyone experience this on their long travel kits? I have the Camburg Tacoma race kit and these rotors are about a year and a half old. I was told Camburg ships the cheapest rotors to cut costs (I think these are Wilwood) , gotta say I was pretty disappointed. I bought some better ones for 150 a piece!

    Check out the build
I didn't know Camburg did brakes? That's pretty bad for a rotor to give out like that.

They dont, just sell them with the kits and replacements. There wilwoods supposedly. Pretty shitty tho, defiantly shouldn't do this especially when its a race kit thats going to take some abuse

Only have about 300 dirt miles on our rotors so far but still look brand new. Ours are rear though, not fronts.

Why are you blaming Camburg for a shitty part someone else made?

Nothing about what we sell or build is cheap and that holds true with the name brand Wilwood rotors we use in all our race long-travel kits. We do no cut corners or use cheap parts. The rotors we use in that kit retail for $130 each. We have been using the same part number for 15+ years with ZERO issues or failures. Looks to me like the rotor adapter hardware got loose and that's what caused the rotor to fail like that. Wilwood doesn't make a better rotor than what we supply.

Here's the rotor we use .....

Dont get me wrong, I have had Camburg on my past two trucks, best kits out there in my opinion, I know you guys stand behind your products and I have had great customer service. Personally I think you guys should sell the Wilwood GT rotors with your race kits since they are going to be exposed to harsh terrain and heat and the GT rotors retail for 200$ a piece.

The only difference with the GT rotor is they are slotted on the face and dynamically balanced for high speed road cars, hence the higher price. Same material and strength between the two. We've sold hundreds of these rotors and raced on them with no issues. Like I said it looks like the hardware got loose and at that point can break any rotor regardless of price. If we were having issues then we would look for something better, but that has never been the case.

So whomever told you we use the cheapest rotors to cut costs was incorrect.

Make sure to use all new hardware with a stover type locking nut with hi-temp red loctite with the new rotors.

Well that gives me confidence in my local offroad parts place by saying that . On the other hand you might be correct on the hardware part and I didn't think of that being the point of failure figuring the actual rotor snapped. But I do need 1 rotor hat, do you guys sell them as individuals or just as a pair?

A pair or separate ... give me a call tuesday and we'll help you out.

Any way we can change the post title since these aren't Camburg rotors and they aren't shitty? lol

The Timken bearings in the hubs can fail, the heims or uniballs in the kit can fail, the brake lines they include with some kits can fail. Blaming camburg is really, really stupid. Good thing you bought a more expensive rotor that's the exact same material as the one you broke.
