Over 4000 fatalities in 2012. And that was a 6% increase from 2012.

Traded the 2015 TRD Pro 6spd Supercharged on a PowerWagon and could not be happier. My 2011 Tacoma with the TX Baja package (Added by me) is still treating me great. My 1985 Toyota never skips a beat.
    4000. Thats not very many.

Thats definitely not a good reason to mandate almost all of 1 million cars every year look retarded.

Nah, it's just like a medium-size airliner crashing and killing everyone on board every other week for a year.

Are you from some 3rd-world country where life is cheap?

Better yet..... How many frigin people LOOK before crossing the street?

Around here, people just walk out in the street without looking both ways...... it's ridiculous!!! They waltz out in the street like you owe them the red carpet treatment. So - it doesn't surprise me that all car manufacturers have to dummy proof the vehicles for STUPID drivers and STUPID pedestrians.

Perfect example.... cars that park themselves.... Really??

    Sorry...vent off.

Agree 100%, year after year the more terrible drivers there seems to be, I dont know if they are just giving everybody licenses or people are just that bad at driving, cell phones, etc. I get so frustrated driving around here sometimes I think I'm going to give myself an aneurism.

Unfortunately our bloated flawed government system only results in continued regulations to that do more harm than good to safe guard those that are incompetent and in my opinion usually contribute little to society.

An ounce of prevention kids... you have to know what you can change (cars to be safer in pedestrian accidents) versus what you can't (stupid people).

Perhaps the solution is less stupid people in the world and the root of the problem.

    This, sadly, seems appropriate:

    Did we get offtopic? LOL

To hell with the pedestrians..... I'll be happy to finally get a rear camera. I can't park / reverse my truck to save my ass. I avoid it actually. I'd walk a mile before having to parallel park.

Wait, weren't you the one a few posts back that said it's stupid for to have automatic parallel parking? IF you have trouble parallel parking what's stupid about a useful feature...

My 2013 has a rear view camera. I hate those ultrasonic backup sensors though. Go on a dirt road for a mile and go home, back up, and your truck yells at you like your about to hit a retard on a minibike.

Yes...I did say Auto Parallel Parking is stupid. Why? First off....I wouldn't trust it. Second - it promotes people to stop paying attention. Similarly to those pedestrians that just cross the street without looking - not paying attention.

Having AUTOMATIC features are surely nice....when it doesn't involve people's lives, people's property, or doesn't involve insurance claims. etc.

Just because you have automatic sensors, automatic parking, automatic braking, blind spot monitors, etc... Doesn't mean you can stop paying attention while driving.

Auto parallel park uses sensors. Someone walks in the way it won't work. My parents Ford Explorer has it. It prevents damage from unintended acceleration during parking and it prevents you from hitting anything when parking. It also disengages immediately if the brake is applied. It's a very well designed system for both stupid and smart people.

That being said it doesn't work if the camera/sensors are dirty so you do need to know how to parallel parking in case you didn't wash your car lately. So it's probably more smart than stupid friendly.

I think all the automatic systems are great considering they all require some driver input. Advanced collision avoidance/braking systems only floor the pedal after it's depressed slightly, rear sensors/cameras allow you to look under the tailgate level, and blind spot monitors allow good drivers to see what you normally can't see. They are all "smart" systems in my book.

My AC, DBSB and DBLB all drive the same, the DBLB is just a bit harder to park and back up with the turning radius and its a long truck.
