Is there any consideration of these being made to be bolted onto the frame to be true sliders or would one have to look at another mfg for options?

Ordered the bolt on slider/steps. They shipped on time and the fab seems just fine to me, so so far I'm a fan of Avid, but I am starting to question the point of the product. They're a bit too high and shallow to be very functional as steps, and the fact they're bolted to the cab means they aren't very functional as sliders. As was shown earlier in this thread, they seem to be able to take a bit of a bump to protect your truck, and, well, they sure look cool. So there's that.

Not sure yet though. I've just been stepping over them for now - which rubs my leg. We'll see how annoying that becomes in the winter time. I like them for now, but wonder if in the future I will swap them out for some Nfab steps.

I too have these sliders, and while they are not a hilift jack point, I have put my cab on rocks on these and they have held up with no damage to cab at all. They are pretty stout for some good off roading.

Now, for those that have these and want to mount them to frame, avid will hook you up with the weld on arms and all you have to do is take them to a shop and they will weld the arms to the sliders and the sliders to the frame, I did this and they now work great for a hilift jack point

Cuz they just bolt to the OEM cab holes where you mount factory steps. To use them to support truck or jack points you want them tired into the frame, hence weld on or frame bolt ons.

I was looking into getting sliders for my truck. Preferably bolt ons to the frame. Are all frame mounted sliders hi jack acceptable or are some of them not? Sorry if I am jacking your post a bit, yours look pretty sweet and the paint advice is rather helpful!

Frame mounted sliders are good for jack points, bolt on or weld on. The ones in the OP are cab mounted, they will not work for supporting the truck. Bolting to the cab is different from bolting to the frame.

Thanks man! I wouldn't lift the truck if it was bolted to the body but i wasn't 100% sure if bolted to the frame was equivalent to welding it.

Once you lift your truck, you will be glad to have em. I took mine off to re coat them and have missed them. Its hard to crawl up in without the step. Granted, im ~5" lifted on 33" tires so its a pretty good leap to get up there

IMG_4916.jpg IMG_4922.jpg Rattle canned and mounted! Perfect for my use and aesthetically what I was going for. They were requested by, and tested good by the wifey who stands < 5'1" on a good day. We compromised with function and purpose. Thumbs up for Avid for quality and service.

Depending on what you want. If it needs powder that adds time.
