Has anyone heard of this before or have suggestions before I throw parts at it.

I have a 2007 gsxr600, in December the regulator /rectifier, stator and battery were replaced. The regulator was moved from its stock location next to the radiator to the air Box to keep it from over heating like the stock ones do.

I can ride for a few weeks and eventually when I stop for something it won't restart , the battery will be dead. If I pop start it at this point it will run fine, I'll will ride it home and charge the battery and I'll be good for a few more rides.

I put a multi meter on the battery and the battery is not charging properly, at a warm idle I'm at 12.3 volts, at 5000 rpm I'm at 12.2 volts

I was under the impression that if the stator, regulator/rectifier were fried that the bike would not run at all, but once the battery dies after a few rides and I pop start it it rides fine, when this happens I take the battery out and charge it when I get home.

someone suggested maybe some of the coils in the stator are bad

Does anybody here have a suggestion
