    2015 MGM V6 DCSB 4x4
    2003 Jeep Liberty Renegade-

Rear power windows came off tracks
    Rear window latch broken
    Replaced radiator
    Rear axle leak
Replaced front control arm/lower ball joint (recalled)
    Fuel system/gass tank assembly recalled
    Replaced both front hubs
    Air bag sensor recalled
Blower motor stopped working on all but high
Finally rod started knocking at 150k which prompted me to get my Tacoma

However, the Jeep did manage to smash a full grown doe at 55mph with both axles only to have a fog light pop out.

ATV trail dents, many, many lights, 4-6 beer cans.
Mine had to be my old 1994 Taurus.

    • When I got it at 160k it had a blown head gasket (was a project, ergo very cheap), but when I sold it for scrap (205k) it was on the way out again.
    • A transmission that had little to no idea what was the appropriate action to take when the pedal was depressed (I always thought it masqueraded as a standard stuck in 1 gear, until you had your foot hard down, then it would kick down 2 and you're at the redline...)
    • The front seats were designed to make you feel like you were ready to give birth
    • To reach the rear bank you had to take half the vacuum hoses and the intake plenum off to even think about changing plugs
    • 2x water pumps in 45k, 2 serpentine belts, a pulley tensioner and an alternator (all within about 3 months of each other, all required half engine disassembly)
    • The heater worked when it wanted to, not before, not after
    • A trunk lid that didn't like to stay closed
    • Body panels that would dent if you glared at them hard enough
    • Paint that peeled at the sight of sunlight
That car saw some good times at my expense though, it also taught me to stay away from transverse domestics, and in fact, any domestic that didn't have the classic '18 moving parts' application and a roomy engine bay.

Biggest POS I ever owned, was an Oldsmobile Ciera station wagon. First time I changed the oil...the nut inside the oil pan broke loose. Couldn't get it come come out at all, although it was loose and about half way out. I had to push up on it with my finger....and let the "still too damn hot" oil run down my arm and off my elbow to drain. I couldn't get it to screw back in with a ratchet. Grabbed my air impact, and bumped it quick, and it caught. I tightened it back up, and finished my oil change.............and traded that POS before it was due another oil change.

Funny, My parents had a '95 wagon that was probably the most reliable thing I've ever seen. Rust finally got it in the end. They bought it new and it never had a non-routine issue. Even the OEM battery lasted almost 10 years!

They had a couple of '99s which were not nearly as good, though. The Duratec engines they had were rock solid, but that's about it. Weird electrical issues, awful transmissions (that never actually failed but sure didn't shift well!), and a lot of fit and finish quality issues. I could never get over the stupid oil filter placement on them, either.

My Magnum had one minor problem (rear defrost feeding back into the stereo) in the ~88,000 miles I owned it. Dealer fixed it at the next scheduled service...offered to do it right away, but it wasn't that big a deal.

My Cherokee ranks as the most reliable vehicle I have ever owned...sold (and still running 2 years later) with 220,000 miles, still with the original water pump!

My stepfather has put 200,000+ miles (each) on two different Concordes...now has and loves a 300.

That's because most of them rotted in half before they could wear out. :p

My mother had two (1995 SOHC, 1998 DOHC), a good friend had one (1997 DOHC). None used oil...my friend's was scrapped (rust) with over 200,000 miles. And he did NOT baby that car...let's say that he knew where the DOHC Neon powerband was, and used it!

I will say the Illinois-built cars are better than the Mexican-built cars.

It was good enough that the SCCA changed Showroom Stock rules to make them uncompetitive!

I worked for a livery company that regularly ran them 300,000+ miles. Of course...they maintained them, soccer moms often don't!
