My 2012 Tacoma TRD Off Road came with the factory vinyl flooring but no mats. The mat locks/snaps are in place though. I wanted to get a set of Weathertech mats but their website states that the mats are not to be used with the vinyl floor. I'm not sure why except that Weathertech may be concerned with the mats sliding on the vinyl. Honestly, I think the mats would stick better to the vinyl than carpet and they would be locked/snapped in too.

What are you guys with the vinyl flooring using for mats?

When the mats rub/slip the vinyl floor may stain. Also slippage could cause interference with the pedals, and Weathertech doesn't want to be on the hook for an accident. Hence their disclaimer.

I'd suggest 2-sided tape in a couple of spots, and don't expect Weathertech to make you whole if something goes wrong. But they'll probably work fine.

(I have the Husky liners BTW and they have been great so far, but I have carpet)

I don't have a vinyl floor but have in the past on other trucks.Weathertech doesn't want to be responsibe/liable if something were to happen in a negative way. You'll most likely be fine with the Weathertech's because there designed to fit.Using velcro in a few spots will help as well to secure.

I figured somebody did something wrong and sued Weathertech. My truck has the mat screw locks under the front seats and the Weathertech mats appear to have the holes for the locks, so I don't see how the mats could slide forward under the pedals. Side to side maybe but not forward. The double sided tape or velcro is a good idea.

No Deal!!! :) Don't want carpet! I like the vinyl flooring. I just want the mats to help contain the debris and make it a bit easier to get the debris out of the truck.

It was worth a shot. I would love vinyl flooring, but not for $380 from the dealership:mad:

Weathertech floor liners moded to hold OEM floor mats, weathertech vent visors, Toyota bed mat, LEER 100XL cap, hood gasket mod to stop whistling.
Wow, I didn't know that a Tacoma could come with a vinyl floor.

If you have the tie downs, they will come through the Weathertechs and hold them in place, I don't see the issue. I went a step further with my Weathertechs, I cut out the plastic disc that the tie downed locks into, put my stock rubber floor mats on top of them and twisted the OEM tie downs to hold it all in place. With the plastic insert in the floor liners it was too thick, cut them out and you can stack them. My dealer checks every vehicle when it comes through his shop and notes it on the work order if or if not the floor mats are tied down.

Weathertechs was kind of evasive when I asked them if this would work. They were nice enough to send me replacement plastic inserts for the floor liners in case it didn't. The tie downs are tight, but it worked, absolutely no regrets.
