ALl of my vehicles growing up have been fairly reliable. The only one I can really complain about is..wait for it...my wife's 08 wrangler unlimited. It had some sort of electrical & stalling issue that we couldn't figure out and we could never replicate it at the dealer. Took it in numerous times. It wasn't until it died on her at the 101 / 405 interchange (while pregnant) that we decided to ditch it.

    1996 Chevy S10 Blazer with a 4.3L engine.

Many motor components were replaced by 90,000.
Water pump, alternator, starter, radiator, intake manifold gasket (that one cost me $600 in labor), idler tension pulley, and fuel pump. I'm sure i missed a few things, its been many years. I didn't trust it as far as I could throw it. I owned it from 30,000 to 95,000 miles and sold it.

Besides high failure rate of components bolted onto that motor, the motor itself was solid as a rock and had a ton of power, way more than my Tacoma! (I love my Tacoma).

All in all I loved that S10 Blazer, but it turned me away from GM (I've owned 3). I haven't been back yet. Chances are, I'd buy a Ford again before a GM product. I'm rooting for them though and hope they catch up. I was raised a Chevy man, I just don't make enough money to constantly fix my vehicles!

A man who owned one of these is a rarity in deed! Props to you. Everyone wanted one of these in 1985. I wasn't quite old enough to drive yet.

2001 Nissan Altima... Bought it for my wife and replaced the Alternator at least 6 times. Had the electrical checked by Nissan and they stated it was good. That car was such a PIG!

I had a brand new 2006 Nissan Altima and the transmission went out at 19,000 miles, the front tires were bald on the inside and new on the outside at the same mileage. The dealer fixed the transmission, blamed me for the front end alignment, and I sold the car later that month. That specific dealership really pissed me off and lost my business. Good customer service can make up for a lot of shortcomings on a car, but this dealer didn't care.

The ONLY Nissan I would buy today is the 370Z, and that's just because I love Z cars (GTRs don't count, whole new price range).

Jarlaxle, you are incorrect. ALL high performance cars were de-tuned in 1972. Look it up.

Weathertech floor liners moded to hold OEM floor mats, weathertech vent visors, Toyota bed mat, LEER 100XL cap, hood gasket mod to stop whistling.
1982 Ford Mustang LX ..... 2 transmissions, 1 brake booster, lots of blown tires and bent rims due to the small size, rebuilt the carb, and watched it rust. Believe it or not, the product restore made the thing finally run well after about 75,000 rusty miles.

Oh, then there was the 1991 Chevy Lumina that had failing rear calipers that I had to rescue my wife on multiple occasions, releasing them with a broom handle.

Then there was the 1998 Pontiac Bonneville that was a fantastic car for the first 98,000 miles, then had 3 engine swaps between 98,000 and 140,000 due to a bad oil pressure return spring in the unit near the oil pump.

Then there was my sons 1986 Camaro RS that had a R title. It must have built by a madman who spliced wired by twisting them and taping them. Multiple midnight strandings with that one too.

    Cars suck!

Posting in bold does not make you correct, only annoying. Not all engines were detuned...just re-rated.

This. My 1992 Taurus was a steaming pile of excrement, too much crap to list. Weird deal is, I knew another guy who had about the same model long after I dumped mine, and it was a fairly reliable workhorse.

Any Dodge/ Jeep/ Chrysler seems to be the clear winner here so far with VW's getting honorable mention.

It wasn't mine personally but when I was in the car business, we had a 2002 Chevy Duramax that we ended up having to but it back due to so many issues. The turbo crapped at 41k miles, transmission replaced at 46k miles, three out of four window regulators went bad. The thing had more shakes than a 70s disco club and had more leaks than a hacked computer.

2012 chevrolet impala. It was a rental but its no excuse that 3 different warning lights were on during our duration of our vacation. Also the headroom was cramped, the cupholders did not really hold cups all that well, it did not get that good mileage. All in all 4/10 would not rent or own or want to experience again.
