Cheaper taxes do not make up for terrible roads, crazy high gas prices, and having to get a FOID card to buy a gun. I have a lot of family that lives in IL. To hear their stories of taxes and laws. I never want to live there. That's just the bad. Other than the corn fields there are some nice places in IL. Just sayin.

    Illinois hates gun owners...

I've lived in many of the St. Louis suburbs growing up and currently live in Webster Groves. Many people on the Missouri side use family or friends to register their vehicles in IL because its cheaper. Personally I detest this practice because its very popular, even some of my own neighbors, which can only mean the amount of tax money collected is greatly reduced. Perhaps some of our highways and roads would be in better shape.

And governors that stay out of jail. 4 out of 4 is a pretty solid number. Or is it 3 out of 4?

There is no personal property tax in illinois. Registration is a bit higher ~$100/yr. Real estate taxes are quite a bit higher in the metro east area. So if you are buying a house it is probably still cheaper to live in MO.

Going to be staying really busy this summer but would do the leg work organizing a camping/cookout event at Carlyle Lake in Illinois if enough people are interested.

The registration is what I paid in FL. I gotta see what my boss says tomorrow about going out there. I will be renting because I am sure I will only be there a year. Then they will probably move me again

Heading back out this weekend for a couple weeks and then back mid June. Get your calendars out and figure out a couple collective weekends that will work. We can book campsites on the website to make sure we actually get a couple spots. For me any weekend from June 20th until July 19th is available. After that it gets sketchy for me.

Others welcome as well and for those that are new to the region Carlyle Lake is thirty minutes from Scott AFB, and probably an hour from downtown St. Louis.

Getting closer. Test fit was like a glove today. SOS Concepts did a great job.

That's going to look clean! What finish will you be going with? Powder-coat or bed liner?

On a different note, I ran into a black AC cab with an OME lift on 44 and 141 Saturday morning. We talked at the light for a moment and then you got off at big bend. Anyone know who this is?

Bed liner. It's called Z kote I think. My father in law had a bunch of parts from his jeep done in it and it's really lasted.
