I just got mine in San Diego and have been seeing a few on the road. I know of a 2012 or 13 pyrite at a private dealer down here as well.

Well, I mentioned I was getting one. Here's the truck as I picked it up in North Carolina, and then here's today out with all mods removed, and some new wheels/tires added along with a few other choice things. Bilstein 5100's and some other stuff will be next. I'm completely new to trucks--what I know are Subarus so expect many import tuning elements to wind up on my truck w/ a bit of baja flare.

I'll be starting up a journal soon. I haven't even got it inspected locally haha... still rocking my temp plate and the mods have begun. ;)

    Mods so far:

*FN Wheels Mag Blue 16x8 +0 countersteer type x
    *Toyo RT 265/75/16
*Classic "TOYOTA" matte black rear sticker
*90's style "Toyota Sport" stickers for the bed sides. I may remove these and go larger in same design.
*Tonneau cover removed, pin stripe removed, debadged, side steps removed, mud flaps removed.

How do you guys describe the color to someone like "I'll be driving a Tacoma that's .... in color"?

    Fool's Gold

Edit: The mineral pyrite, or iron pyrite, also known as fool's gold, is an iron sulfide with the chemical formula FeS2. This mineral's metallic luster and pale brass-yellow hue give it a superficial resemblance to gold, hence the well-known nickname of fool's gold. The color has also led to the nicknames brass, brazzle, and Brazil, primarily used to refer to pyrite found in coal

    Howdy,

Just got mine on Saturday. First Toyota. I am coming off a 3rd gen 2500 ram 4 door, but love how easy this little truck is to drive.

Oooo I like that winch setup--that it blends nicely into the stock bumper. What is it? Thx.

EDIT: Reading is fundamental. I noticed you have it on your mod list.
