So my house got broken into a couple days ago. Right around 12 pm.

My room mate was sleeping in his room (works a night shift and sleeps during the day) when he was woken up to what sounded like someone body slamming the door. He thought it was me or a friend messing with him, so he yelled out some profanities. No one responded and the slamming stopped. He went out into the hallway and the doggy door was smashed in and the back door open. He went up stairs and the xbox and some other valuables were missing.

He started to call us and go around looking to see what all they had taken. LUCKILY, he found one of my suitcases in our other room mates room full of all the missing stuff.

Sounds like the thief thought the house was empty and my room mate scared him off when he was trying to break down the door.

We filed a police report and they dusted for prints and stuff.

Then yesterday we realized the thief actually got away with an $80 wrist watch, and our bowl of spare change we dubbed the "home improvement fund"......which might have had $20 in it.

So now I'm in the market for a handgun.......any suggestions?

While a handgun is cool to have, it ain't gonna stop someone from breaking in your house if no one is home

My room mate was home when this happened......

EDIT: Also I don't work a traditional 8-5 monday-friday schedule either. So I'm frequently home on week days or at times most people would be at work.

And I would like to have some protection from bears while camping.

    Matt-

Do you live in Denver? This has been the new "thing" lately in Denver...broad day-light.
Are you familiar with CO Make My Day laws?
Have you considered purchasing some alarm signs off Amazon? Cheap and may be an effective deterrent as well.

....FWIW - the sound of a shotgun chambering around is universal....everyone knows that sound. A pistol wont do as much damage as some good slugs against a bear.
Ref pistols - I'm a Glock fan boy..never an issue.

I'm personally a fan of the sig p226.

I work at a range so I get to try a bit of everything.

I'd suggest though going to a range and renting guns to try out a bunch and see what you like. Guns are like cars and you should test drive them first. I've seen many people first hand love how a gun feels until they shoot it.

I would say you're close to centennial gun club. Gorgeous place. I know they allow walk in shooters and you can rent guns as well from them.

This. And much less chance of a round going through a neighbors house.

I'm at a loss too. And I know I got above average mpg for the life of this truck. But I wouldn't expect it to finally realize, "hey... wtf? I shouldn't be getting 21... I should be getting 17 or 18. Let me adjust now." :(

I'm bringing the truck back to them to replace the pump under warranty. It makes a shit load of noises and groans. So they are going to replace it. Maybe a bad pump would cause this? I dunno... like I said I have no clue.

Was hoping you and Jace would chime in eventually. Bad timing to post this with the Moab trip ensuing.

In theory a dragging pump could cause more engine load decreasing fuel mileage. Either way it sounds like it is dead and should be repaired.
