Thanks. It was a very relaxing trip. The camping was great too.
I guess I need to check out AR some time. I've driven through a few times, it was always dark out.

image.jpg image.jpg Not really an update on the truck, but I built a pulley system to store the RTT and rack on the garage ceiling. I know I'll catch a little hell for using some components that are not rated for overhead lifting. Everything is rated for at least 4 times the weight, and I installed some safety chains just in case. I am so happy with how easy it is to operate.

I've got just over 7' clear under the lowest point. The cables are only temporarily connected to the rack. On phase two of the rack, there will tie down points added along with some lighting and a high lift mount. Slowly it will come together.

image.jpg I like being able to recline in the driver's seat with the back seats packed with crap and folded. I just finished installing some quick release pins, so I can remove the seat part without a wrench. I simply drilled out the factory hing pins.

I like what you have done to your truck. I like the orange skids, the gas tank skid, and the tent /rack hoist you have. Excellent. The picture above is so amazingly green. I can't recall having seen that kind of green, or that much water during the last 5 years. :D

The hinge pins are genius. Thank you. I will most likely do the same. I've removed the rear seat bottom and bolts many more times than I care to admit.

Looking forward to your future postings.

Thanks. I really love how green it gets around here. I grew up in Sacramento though and miss having the dessert so close sometimes.

I did notice that the 'key ring' things on the pins I used on the seat will rattle quietly once in a while. I am thinking of swapping those rings out for something that fits a little tighter like hog rings or something.
I actually found your build a while ago and am planning to copy your U-bold flip parts when I get around to fixing my squeaky Dakers.

Picked up a few goodies that I'll be breaking in at Uwharrie this weekend. Also putting in an order with Eddy at SOS.:spy:

Good on the high lift. If you don't already have plans for it, I recommend getting a slider adapter if you plan to lift from your sliders. It makes it super stable for lifting. I use mine all the time for maintenance on the truck, on and off-road. :D

Thanks! I really like all the work you've put into yours and all your home made parts.

Thanks. I'm pretty much sold on getting the slider adapter. It wasn't in stock, and I figured I could get by for now. I'm including hi-lift provisions in the front bumper, and the back bumper will also have those cutouts.

....oh, and it's official! I've got a HC rear bumper ordered from SOS! I decided to skip on the swing outs since I have plenty of cab and bed space. Plus I use my truck for work and don't want to open it every time I need to load materials. I am very exited about this! I've been looking for quite a while, and the SOS products look very well made and priced fairly.

So, the inevitable happened. I destroyed my rear drive shaft on a rock. I'm looking into a thicker wall re-tube. Pics to follow of course; they're just on my other camera. But the great news is that I used this as an excuse to buy a new work truck. The Taco is now just for the fun stuff and is on standby as a work backup. Enter a new to me '06 F150 with lots of miles. This even gives me an excuse to repurpose the Taco's old 31" tires to the 'new' truck and get the 33's it wants.

Gas tank skid took a hit too and did a great job.

Haha. I'll post pics in your thread. ;)
Edit: Not tonight. They're in my other camera which means I will need to turn on the old laptop.

Sorry about the driveshaft, but I'm glad that the gas tank didn't get taken out as well.

Actually, because of no other option, I tried to place the rock on the gas tank but slid sideways...
All the rock did was clean the old mud off your skid. I am very impressed.
