really? no one has an answer for this?
the reason I ask is because everything says online that they do, well I am trying to sell my old bumper and the guy is a member here and has a 96, says he read it here that it wont fit... anyone have an answer.

They won't fit. At least not as a straight bolt on. There is a difference on the newer years with the front of the frame. I had a friend try my old 96 front bumper on his 98 and it didn't fit.

It can be done but its A LOT of work from what ive heard. I have seen it done though. I think you end up having to replace hood too. Best bet would be google 96 4runner with tacoma grill (seen more of those done). Maybe a right up you can go off of for general idea???
