I just started experiencing VSC problems on faster turns. I have had a lift for over a year with no VSC issues. The VSC activation only started happening AFTER I rotated my tires, front to rear and Corner to corner diagonally. Now its bad especially on left turns. Off ramps. twists etc.

So Why does VSC go crazy after a tire rotation? Was fine for a year before that.

    My truck
2012 crew cab long bed 4x4
Tires 265/75/16 BFG AT on stock Alloys
Front is stock with 5100's set 1 notch from the highest setting
    Rear has a 1.5 AAl
truck still has a slight nose down rake

could alignment be playing a part?

My truck had frozen eccentrics when I went to align it after the lift. They were replaced under warranty and the truck was aligned. However there is not enough adjustment in the stock eccentrics to get neutral or neg Camber. So it has a little positive camber.

Have you had the VSC zero point recalibrated ?

I havent, I guess i'm just wondering how a tire rotation would affect a yaw sensor calibration

Will try doing one this week

was also going to swap the tires back and see if it went away

The VSC just senses different wheel speeds. If your tires were worn and feathered on the front end and you moved them to the back, there will be less traction and it will be easier to spin them, which engages VSC. You can easily disable all of that VSC and traction control by unplugging a wheel speed sensor. Then go for a drive and see if you are just peeling out. Be cautious, your truck will handle a lot different and ABS won't work.

The VSC activates during high speed understeer for me, not during a loss of traction to the rear, or oversteer. I feel like it is activating due to steering wheel position and yaw rate. If I enter a clover leaf slowly with a constant steering wheel angle and accelerate I can produce massive understeer without activating VSC. However if I enter a corner fast, straight line brake and then turn the truck in with power off the VSC kicks in activating the front ABS and disabling throttle, actually producing more understeer as all the weight comes off the rear and back to the front exaggerating the condition. VSC is not helping in this case.

Interesting. Maybe Oz is right about the calibration. Personally I disabled all of the electronic nannies years ago and just drive the damn thing.

My issues seem to come from the yaw rate primarily too

I plan on aligning it, rebalancing the tires and doing a zero point reset tomorrow. We will see, Thanks.
