Any opinions on a good deal for a 2007 double cab 4x4 TRD Sport with the long bed? It has 165k miles and is from a private party.

Does anyone have the DC long bed? Do you like it or do you wish you went short?

Is there anything specific to look for when checking it out?

Also, does this model have a timing chain or belt?

Traded a DCSB a few months ago, got 14k in trade, saw my old truck at another dealer for 17995. 07, 132k SR5 6 spd but short bed. When I traded it in it needed carrier bearing, wheel bearing, windshield, and a clutch.

I would buy the DCLB in a heartbeat if it came with a 6 spd. Get the long bed, I traded for an A/C pretty much to get the long bed and keep my 6 spd... Not much experience with the automatics, how does the transmission shift after 165k? If it's had a hard life it might be on the way out. No timing belt, it's a timing chain. Check the frame for rust, also the rear leafs are prone to breaking, there was a recall started on mine before I traded it.

    Hopefully that helps

Not sure what a "Good deal" would be but the truck has a chain. Also, I never regret going with the long bed but you're going to find people have strong feelings for one over the other. If you plan on doing a lot of tight trails you should consider the short bed. Personally, I think the long bed looks much better and it's hard to argue against the functionality.

Chain. I have an 08 SR5 with LSD and love it. Limited slip in the years prior to 09? are mechanical and from what I here are better than current. I wouldn't be able to live with a short bed because of my work, activities and 2 kids and all their crap. Short bed is just to small for what I do so depends what your using the bed for. I do like the look of the short bed better plus less length to maneuver in tight parking lots and trails. I'd take it to a repeatable mechanic before purchasing with that many miles, should have tons of life left. Get the frame inspected also.

Do you plan on parking it in a garage?? Unless you have an oversized garage (deep), it won't fit in a standard garage (length).

    Has the frame been inspected?

Forgot about that. The DCLB does not fit in my garage which does kind of bum me out. It's the first vehicle I've owned that I haven't parked in doors. Of course, my wife is thrilled to be able to park her car in there lol. I just see it as motivation to keep up on washing and waxing
