Eric is the tech guy at Sway Away. INSANELY helpful man!

Check the air for sure because the rest sounds ok from what you have described.

Yeah I'll check the air tomorrow, and that's who has my info Eric, just waiting on what he has to say but where are your air valves located because it seemed like the only way to mount mine was not being accessible

On my remotes, which are mounted on the frame, super accessible. Lol.

So i went back to stock, Im taking my coils to a local shop to get them filled, and I noticed the top plate on the drivers side which was making the most noise was very easy to move side to side, does that matter?

Um.... YEAH that matters! The situation from what you are describing almost sounds like your spherical bearing is bad on it. If it feels too sloppy, like outside of it's usual rotational range then yeah it is bad, if it looks like it moves around in there just fine then you are ok. Remember the top and bottom both move a little when installed, but if you are getting noise out of it just by moving the plate around by hand then that does not sound normal.

Is the Allen bolt that runs through it part of the problem as well? Does that bolt affect it being loose? I haven't had a chance to tighten it yet

I mean it CAN. Remember, I told you a while back to check every last fastener and make sure it was tight. I'm sure this was hard to get to but now that the stuff is off check it and check it good. Check for play in the spherical bearings check for loose top hat bolts, everything! I check all that stuff before I mount on CO's to avoid the hassle you are having right now.

Yeah It just didn't seem like it would of been a problem because of how solid it mounts, but I'll work on tightening that top plate tomorrow, and getting them filled with nitrogen. The other top plate is still and has little movement which is the way it should be right?

So I tried to tighten the Allen bolt, didn't work, the bearings on both are fine and make it hard to move the top plate around, the one that moves easily has the same spacers and everything, it just has the smallest gap to let the top plate move, the bearings don't if that makes sense, my last option is refilling them with nitrogen, if that doesn't work Im not sure what to do

You shouldn't have gaps in the first place anyways though. That allows room for slop and movement and that's not good. Try refilling the shocks with air and report back. If anything try and let the air entirely out of the coilover. You should have a lot of air releasing from the shraeder valve. If its not a lot of air then that was the problem and just refill and retest.

    Check out my build thread.
OP ever figure out what was making the noise? still curious to what the solution was.

Sorry have been really busy, but i contacted camburg, they sent me new spacers for the top plate so it would take out the movement, they ended up being smaller then the ones that were on them.... I'm going to call tuesday to talk to them about bringing them in to have them look at it because its a hassle. I'm hoping they can find the right spacer and keep the cost down because they don't need to be rebuilt.

even though the top plate has that gap between the spacers causing it to move so easily? because the other coilover has no gap between the top plate and spacers and doesn't move like the one in the video

My swayaway 2.5 iirc the top place bearing spacers were the same length on either side of the bearing butI could be wrong, but I know a bearing could cause that
