Anyone ever sold a vehicle through "Exclusive Auto Outlet"? Are they a scam?

Anyone ever sell a vehicle through these guys?

They recently contacted me about my truck, which I listed on Kijiji to see if I got any bites at my price, and they called me fairly quick. Apparently they sell vehicles through their online site and also through other outlets and collect a commission off the reseller. It sort of made sense right up to the point where the girl mentioned that there would be a $500 dollar deposit required to make sure I was serious and to cover off the advertising fee's until my truck sold.

This sounds like a scam to me but I'm curious if anyone has ever used these guys to sell a truck in Canada or knows of someone who has?

First time poster, who registers as owning a Dodge, and new member. Uses an acronym for the company name... No offence but it sounds like someone works for exclusive auto outlet.

looks like any other car advertising site, but they take $500 up front and you still do all the listing work.

Yup I figured as much. The girl on the phone sounded like a pro though which made me wonder if there was a slight chance they were legit.

Just got a call from them as I had posted my BMW Z3 on Kijiji and yes the girl on the phone might have sounded professional but the minute I told her I wanted to read more about what others said about their company she literally hung up the phone on my ear!!! So much for being professional! They are definitely a scam! She wanted to rush me into giving her my credit card details over the phone so she can charge the 499.00 right away! I've had other similar companies call asking between 199.00 and 300.00 for the same shady services. I am going to report this company to the authorities and see what they say then. My advice - stay away from them!!!

Yup. They also called me about 3 times a day for a week with the same scam until they got the hint that I wasn't interested.

Literally just registered onto this site so that I can post that I've also received the same scam call from the girl. She sounds nice and friendly giving off that professional feel but as soon as she said $500 deposit I knew what was up.

Here's the email she sent me -

I just signed up to post information regarding this scam. I have asked them if I could meet in person, they initially said they are in Toronto, however switch location to kamloops, BC. As soon as I said I would go to Toronto.

my hunch is that they are targeting truck owners.

I have received the same email, however the associates are Carly Anderson and Kevin Martin.

I will be back linking here for visibility.

Posted my minivan for sale yesterday and have already been contacted by two different people. Adrian Ross and Kevin Martin. They sound like they know what they are doing, but i cannot shake the scam vibe that i get from this. When i asked Kevin what their office physical location was, he replied with we have been in business for 6 years, the credit card companies would not let us put charges through if we were not legit and finally, we do not have an address, we are an online company. That is a non-answer if i have ever heard one. i am going to keep digging and see what else i can come up with, but i am afraid it wont be much.

    Hello Kurtis
    2009 Dodge Grand Caravan

Thank you for taking the time to speak to me about your 2009 Dodge Grand Caravan, it was a pleasure.
As per our conversation, I am a vehicle locator looking for specific makes and models according to our demand based off of traffic to our site. I called you to find out more about your particular vehicle to see if it can be a possible candidate for our company's advertising platform.
Basically the way our company works is we keep a short variety of every type of vehicle on our site to maximize the sales based solely on demand. Just like the motto goes "supply and demand". That allows us to list the vehicles at a price that leaves not much space for negotiating which allows us to market the vehicles at the highest price possible while staying within the market's competition. As you already know there are many "free" ways to advertise your vehicle however history shows that mostly what you get from free ads is either someone trying to pull the wool over your eyes or kicking you in the foot to get the lowest price. Here at Exclusive Auto Outlet we strive to provide the best customer service and a no hassle policy when it comes to the price of your vehicle. We specialize in quick private sales. For a small fee of $497.97 we guarantee our results with premium service until it sells. What we offer is only the best type of service, which includes the following:
    • Mass advertising
    • A personal agent
    • Live customer care agents
    • Targeted full asking prices
    • Access to auto finance companies
    • Unlimited premium advertising until the vehicle sells
    • A login account to update your profile and keep our feeds up to date
    • No renewal fees, no cuts or commissions off you final and private sale
With a blend of these tools, we have experienced a quicker sales cycle than the competition. Why advertise on a website where there are millions of other vehicles to compete against? We strive for quality, not quantity. Sit back relax and let us do the work for you.

Now although I cannot guarantee that an advertising rep will contact you based on my find, I can assure you that if they do you can pretty much consider your vehicle sold.

Thanks again for taking the time to speak to me and I wish you the best of luck on getting your vehicle sold.

Well, I'm a tool! My story is the same as everyone's here: posted a vehicle on Kijiji, receive call from E auto outlet, except I'm a dufus and went for it. That was 3 weeks ago. I'm thinking of calling my credit card company to see if they can chase after these guys if my car doesn't get sold.

I pressed them for further details on how they do business, since it looks like they only have a crappy version of Kijiji. It was explained to me that they have the website in case someone comes across your vehicle there and likes it, but mostly they end up getting credit approval for people with really bad credit ratings that need to buy a car...then those people buy your car with a cheque from E auto outlet (or their lenders, I guess). They end up paying an absurd loan rate to E auto outlet. So best case scenario, they're like loan sharks for people desperate to own a vehicle to be able to commute to work. Slimy. If any of what they told me is true, then I suppose there's a chance my car will get sold, but I'm guessing that it's not gonna happen. Wouldn't these guys have been busted already if their business was not legitimate?

Like others, I am posting here just to bring light to these scam artists. Posted my car on Kijiji two days ago and I got a call from Alycia Brooks at EAO Monday morning. At first I didn't completely understand their concept, but she said she would send me an email and it would be much clearer. Received the same standard canned email response others have posted herein. Followed the link to their site and that is when I thought this was some fly-by night operation and the only Google search that brings up their name is this post and EAO's own website.

So today, I get another call from Brooke Evans ... She wants to know if I still have questions. I begin to ask her why I should front the $500. She claims it's my commitment to assure I don't sell the car before they find a customer. So when I told her that if someone comes with cash in hand I can't sell my car? She comments that she couldn't stop me from selling my car, but I would forgoe my $500. So I asked her again how their business model works. She gives the answer already posted about charging 16% on the financed amount to people with poor credit and that is how they make their money. So I ask again why I should pay the $500. She tries to change tactics and then tells me she has a customer in my City that wants to buy the car right away at the full list price. I commented that was perfect, so I suggested that EAO simply cut me a certified cheque for $500 less my full asking price and no harm, no foul. Apparently she didn't like that suggestion because that wasn't part of their business procedures.

Well, that was enough for me and I knew this was a complete load of crap. I told them I wasn't interested in their services.

Don't be suckered by these people.

I also got the same call from these people and same exact email aswell. I almost gave them my credit card info. I asked them why should I pay them as they can deduct $500 from the money I will get. She told me that they wont be charging anything, this is just a deposit for commitment that I wont sell my car to anyone else. They will give me a certified cheque of cost of my car + $500 refund for the deposit. I almost got sold on this and I am glad I read this just in nick of time.

    Yes, it was...

That being said this company we are talking about appears to be a scammer. They take your money and post your vehicle on there website for $500 bucks. Then they tell you that they will find a buyer with poor credit and make their money from the finders fee on a high interest loan. The thing is if you ask them about the deposit they get really up tight and the story starts to slip. They will promise to have the vehicle sold immediately, from what others have said, and then you're left out in the cold waiting. The website also seems sketchy and they don't really get into how they find there buyers. All around it sounds very much like a shady operation at best.

They appear to be a fairly recently created scam given that there is almost nothing out there about them on the internet anyways. The first post reply to this forum was from someone who clearly worked for them. The last few I think are from people who are trying to find out more about this company but can only find this forum post and are registering to chip in.
