Can't believe this thread died a few years ago. I don't have a garage (some day!). Love drooling over pics of other peoples' set-ups in the meantime and day-dreaming about how I'll set mine up one day.

Oh yes I'm a big fan of garage porn. Especially since I'm currently without garage. Keep this thread alive.

I've got a basic 64'x40' shop. I framed in a little personal space and a game room, kitchenette and bathroom as well.

Too be honest, i dont know. Id have to go through some recordsto see when i started. Id guess chronologically about 6 to 18 months. Actual time spent... maybe 3 weeks. Technically its not done, i still need to pick up a mini fridge to go next to the wine cooler to be finished :)

I planned on doing a loft man cave so i wouldnt lose floor space but there was too much compromise in ceiling height . so i used 2x12 for the ceiling and made a storage loft instead.

Ya, going to miss it. With the weather we have here, most of the time I've had the shop it's too damn cold to actually use. I've spent my life wanting a shop and have made do without even a garage for most of it. This was supposed to be my last house so I did it like I wanted instead of my usual investment mode of remodels.

2 years (about) and we've decided to move to Florida in the next year or so. I'm flat out tired of wyoming and have been for ages, but I'll miss the shop I'm not quite done building yet

Nothing like starting over. Again! I've got to finish up the project house I'm working on (drywall gets delivered today, yay!) remodel 2 of my other investment properties, and then I'm liquidating everything so I have the reserves to buy the new place. Depending on time and finances I may pick up 1 or 2 more before the big move.

And then I'll start over again down there. I need a nap :)

I'll play. 36X20, came with the loft when we bought the place. I added the shop air, back door, and heavy duty library ladder.
