Finally got my Katzkins installed today. Something that I didn't know is that I should not have left them in the box. I should have laid them out flat a few days to a week before install. A few fold lines are still there but the upholstery shop said they will be gone in short order as the leather shrinks. He offered to steam them but said its better to let them shrink back naturally after all of the stretching to put them on and also steaming can cause some leather to discolor slightly. He has a good reputation so I trust his judgment. They look great! I'm very happy with the Katzkin quality. Sorry for the crappy night phone pics. I'll snap better ones in the morning but it gives you an idea.

In an earlier post I gave the link on Ebay I purchased them on, which is a Katzkin dealer and they cost 500.00. The upholstery shop charged me 75.00 hr and it ended up taking 5.0 hours so 375.00 labor. The total was 875.00.

They look so much better in person. I take crappy pictures particularly at night and on a phone. Next to complete my interior I'm having the shop upholster the perforated dark gray plastic part at the top of each door with the dark gray perforated synthetic leather. Then the inside will look as it should have from the factory.

Five hours for a shop to install...doesn't give me confidence on a DIY job!

He said there is a lot of disassembly to Tacoma seats and the clips etc are not the most rugged. I was happy to pay for the 5 hours and not have to worry about all that plastic and controls etc.

Really the factory stuff was removed.
Price seems pretty fair are the skins made to go over existing seats? They look awesome!

How did you manage the front seat headrest? The shop had to do some creative things to get the front headrest covers on because of the dense filled foam they are made of. He said a shrinking machine is normally needed but his partner is huge and together they shrunk that headrest by hand and got the covers on with brute strength and lots of heat

They are very high quality leather replacements for the factory cloth which is removed. I had two cloth seat replacement covers done under warranty for fraying and sagging in 5000 miles. Not any more

Aww didn't know that I'd seen them and was looking. Would have been funny as hell to watch me trying to get them on!

Even the pros told me they are one tight fit and you end up with some sore hands when done. I guess heat is the key to an easier install

squeezing the foam and lots of swearing but once I figured out how to get the first one on the second was a lot easier
