Not discounting the Glock Armorer's Course (I've got to find time to go), but I learned how to take mine completely apart from watching a YouTube video. Glocks are probably the easiest pistols to completely tear down in existence. All you need is a small punch (or the Glock disassembly tool) and a roll of electrical tape.

A buddy of mine bought a Gen3 G17 that had NEVER been cleaned, and the guy he bought it from was unsure of the round count. Another friend of mine and I split the gun up - I took the slide, he took the frame. Tore it all the way down, cleaned it with a USGI cleaning brush and a couple of Q-Tips. 15 minutes of elbow grease later - whew, it was nasty - it looked like a brand new gun.

If you want to make one change to your G19 that will help your shooting, try this one:

Install a complete G17 trigger bar assembly. This will give you the smooth trigger face of the G17 (versus the cheese grater that comes stock on the G19), and it takes about 2 minutes to do. At less than $20 in cost.

I also watched a YouTube vid a Glock armorer made to learn how to detail strip the gun. The frame is cake and the slide isn't hard once you get the hang of it.

And +1 to a G17 trigger in the 19. It's much better IMO. Not sure why exactly the compacts and sub compacts have different trigger faces, but I heard it has to do with importing laws for foreign pistols. Either way the part is cheap on many websites.

Earlier I mentioned my Glock 43 for a nice CCW. Got I next to my keys to give ya an idea of the size. Or you can google the dimensions.

I wonder why they don't have the finger grooves on the 42 and 43. Too small?
    I wish my G17 didn't have them.

I believe it's because some people can get 3 fingers on the gun and some people can only get 2 on it.

Kinda off topic but, anyone have a recommendation for a gun belt/outdoor belt?
I got a blackhawk riggers belt that I really like (it just came in the mail today) but it's to small, I got it from china for $6 (It was advertised one size fits all) otherwise I'd return it, but I like how stiff it is.

I'd prefer 1.5-1.75" belt as that's what my holster is currently setup for, also black and OD or tan colors.

From the little bit of googling I've done I'm looking at para gear belts, they're decently priced and have the color options I want.

I have an SOE gear EDC belt. It's completely customizable color wise and also size wise which is awesome. It's super stiff...I can leave my shield in the holster, put the belt on the ground and it wont fall over. I'd buy it again in a heartbeat.

yup I own 2 SOE belts, 1 EDC lo profile and 1 cobra buckle

Plan on waiting 8 weeks, but totally worth it IMO if you want a stiff, fabric belt. They have several options for buckles, widths, rigger D rings, and colors

Oh, and don't buy the chinese knockoff products. Buy the proper gear. Actual Blackhawk belts are not 1 size fits all, and compared to my SOE belts...they're not all that stiff. I have 2 Blackhawk rigger belts also, both in black. They fit under my duty belt and that's what I use as my inner belt on duty.

Holy cow those aren't cheap, Lots of people love them though, I may pick up an EDC belt sometime.

    Thanks for the links
The instructors belt sounds pretty good for the price.

That's a bit fancy for my current uses, but when I start CCing i'll probably go to something like that.

@tigerfan00 excuse my Noob question.. But an inner belt? Under your duty belt? Can you explain that to me? PM is fine, or here. You know the drill.

Pretty typical. I have a belt that i can tighten down to hold up my pants. It goes in the belt loops etc just like normal. Then I have a duty belt that fits around the inner belt, and via use of belt keepers, the duty belt stays in place

That makes more sense. I just was thrown by the inner belt name, I guess.

Thanks. Hope all is well over in your neck of the woods.
