We did the same thing to a buddies truck (he was driving). We were driving through a pond on his farm and got it stuck. Headlights went, so we had to use a flashlight to see to rock it out. Eventually broke free from that spot and continued through until we hit a deeper hole and sunk it entirely. And there it sat until the next morning when the tractor pulled it out. Hydro locked haha. Luckily it was already a salvaged truck/title. Also an eventful night. Also lost the tail gate a couple of hours before then on some back road being stupid. He doesn't have the truck anymore, but kept the tailgate on his shop wall for a memento.

haha yeah I hydrolocked my motor that night too but she started back up after, the next day consisted of me taking out my carpets and seats because so much water got in the cab.

Hey all - another Tulsa guy here. I introduced myself in one of the Ok event forums some time back, but I just now discovered this thread. I have nearly read the whole thing over the last few days
So yeah, glad to see some local Toyota enthusiasts! I have been in Tulsa my whole life of 45 years now, grew up in Bixby K-12 and now live in Brookside area. I currently work at the Tulsa Zoo and have for the last 18 years or so. This is my first Tacoma and love it to death, but it is still a very new one for me, only 7500 miles on it. Right now I am currently waiting on a new CBI Moab 2.0 aluminum bumper to show up for it, already received the PIAA ATP lights for the fog locations. Lift is mild one in OME and Toytec AALs. Still running 245/75 Hercules terra trac II's but will be moving up to 235/85 at some point; I like the overlanding/military look a bit and plan on using it as more of a remote access camping vehicle than heavy off roading.
Just thought I would drop in and say howdy!
    Chris

Welcome! Sounds like you already have solid plans for your rig! You work at the zoo you say? Any chance I could pet a tiger (and still have my hand after)?

Yeah, I saw that trip and would really like to go. I am first generation Tulsa, my whole family is Arkansas based and to say I really love going over there is an understatement! Alas, that particular weekend I have a gig to play and would not be able to do both.

Decided to make something to hold my gear in better without using 7 straps. Even got me a seat. adc11ed4f727940b2461b061d2a544c6_4bcc450216ca553b29ac47c9c167edabe9c6ee96.jpgdeefcff22a1b348b5eec27ecde529d53_dc42045e7d16055ec8da8932771164583416a9f7.jpg51090acc659da829f440982353a8ffce_6f7cfc1bfcfcd6be4defa3fdb965de0ae6f58046.jpg

Looks good! I've got a pack rat that I'm trying to figure out how to use effectively - it's so heavy! until I upgrade the suspension looks like ratchet straps are my friend.
