22 mpg would be awesome. Maybe I'll get there once my truck gets some more miles on it.

So if I found a set of Sport wheels with almost new tires in 265/65/17, I should also be OK? By my calculations, this size in the 17" wheel is exactly the same width and height as the 265/70/16 upsize for the 16" wheel. I might be able to get wheels and tires in one package.

Yes, they are usually cheap on Craigslist as well. You could also find a set of stock Off-Road wheels with the 265/70-16 tires. Either would be a good choice.

Thanks. Unfortunately I'm finding they're still outfitted with the stock Dunlops (mine are shot at 20K miles) and most have had the TPMS removed, so I'll have to swap back. Unless it's a smoking deal, I may be better off spending my $ towards a good set of tires.

Also - any chance I can get some closer shots of your tires/wheels, since they are the most like mine? Will give me an idea of how it will look if I kept the wheels I have and just upsized the tires.

    Thanks.

    Apples to oranges, but...

I made the switch to 255/85/16 load E and my fuel economy actually improved about 1.5 mpg over 265/70/16 P rated

Interesting, probably due to the fact the manual had the lower OD vs the OD on the auto... thus the extra tire diameter actually helped! And skinnies like that cut through the air better.

I wish they made more 255/85R16's in a P or C rated.... i LOVE that look

Would go C for the extra flex when aired down if it was available.

I just put on 265/75/16 Cooper AT3's with Level 8 MK6 wheels. Delivered to my door by discounttiredirect.com. Very very slight rubbing on the mud flap and only on the passenger side. No change in MPG per odometer calculation.

This tire/wheel combo is actually lighter than the stock steelies and 245's and since the tire is larger, you get 4% more distance per rev and slight increase in actual MPG.
