Will TRD Pro (4Runner / Tundra) shift knob fit 2015 Tacoma?

Trying to figure out if the TRD Pro shift knob (

$60 PTR57-34140 Shift Knob

PTR57-34140) will fit a 2015 Tacoma. It is marketed for the 4Runner and Tundra.

Being that 4Runners are similar to Tacomas, I still have hope.

Anyone know if this part fits the Tacoma?

I have found in the past that parts fit other Toyota vehicles fine without modification, but they don't state they do.

I like this shift knob over the TRO Pro shift knob they market for the Tacoma.

 

Yes, all the recent-gen automatic shift knobs on Toyota/Lexus/Scion use the same thread pattern, including the Lexus IS-F one with carbon fiber inlay, or the Scion LED model with a solar panel on top.

 

I used the tundra rock warrior shift knob and had to trim about 7/8 inch off to fit properly. Seen it on other shift knob threads.

 

Thanks gentlemen. I wanted to be sure and not have to do much modification before dropping $85.00 on the knob.

 

Tundra TRD Pro knob, no trim.

Does anybody have a picture of the two or can describe the size difference between the Trd Tundra knob and the stock Tacoma

I really like this idea. I love the shifter being in the console but I have to say my first impression of the knob when I got the truck was that it was kinda of wimpy for a truck. I see they go for around the price point stated above pretty much everywhere which seems pretty reasonable to me. If it is bigger but not too big I will go this route assuming there is no trim required.

 

Seems like the trd pro is direct fit. The rock warrior one I purchased seems longer on bottom than trd pro so had to trim 7/8 inch off to properly tighten. Other wise only can tighten down so much but knob still loose .

 

Thanks! I don't doubt you its just at first glance both the Trd Pro and Trd Rock Warrior look almost identical in the pics. I guess I will go peek in a Tundra to see the size difference between it and my current.

ptr57-00110 (rockwarrior?) The shorter one is

$60 ptr57-34140 shift knob

ptr57-34140 according to Amazon pictures .So I believe the ptr57-34140 is the correct one but not 100% sure. Wish I new before I picked up mine. Again not 100% sure so .....Pic of knob is the ptr57-00110 Other pic installed is ptr57-34140. Check amazon and you decide Can see bottom part 1 is longer than other

 

Those pictures are much clearer I can see the difference now. They both look great IMO but thanks for doing the research. I will ad this to my list now. Thanks OP for starting this topic.

 

Also tighten down in 2L for best height , because that the lowest point. It sits a little higher in park

 

I have the same knob as hemitruk and I did not have to do any trimming. The lower part of the knob comes part, so I put that part on first and then thread a locknut onto the shifter. By putting the locknut on, the knob was able to bottom out much higher. If you don't use the locknut, then you will have to trim. Hope that makes sense. I used a toggle bolt to remove the two pieces of the knob apart. FYI, there is a little bit of adhesive and two indentations that hold the pieces together.

 

Did that too but to me sit to high so I cut. Different options. Best bet is shorter version. Maybe with lock washer it sits lower?

Yours looks like the shorter one but if you say its the same well let the people wanting to do the mod decide.

 

Hemitruck excellent center console.Did you make that or buy it?

 

Thanks Made cup holders with 2 stainless coleman camping coffee mugs with handles cut off .The console piece sprayed with rustolium truck bed spray than with trim paint so not to gritty. The other cup holder theres a write up about it in a thread on here. Than 3m niloc carbon fiber wrap.
