    So I've seen some discussion about late 2014 and 2015 tacos and the passenger side frame. Is this the box everyone is talking about and am I out of luck for a dcsb bolt on slider?

    So I'm supposed to pick up my bolt on sliders from Jerry tomorrow. after seeing the last post, I went to check my truck and I found the box installed. After some searching, someone on here already opened the box

    that should be easy enough to relocate or just remount after installing the sliders. I'll keep you posted after I get it installed sometime next week/weekend.

    So do you have the 2015? Definitely let us know as I've seen reference to the box as an issue and possibly the 2015 in general but no confirmation that these sliders can be installed regarding either reference.

    aha... finally figured it out! as mentioned, the harness runs to the bed outlet. it splits in that location, one way to the outlet, one way to the engine wiring harness for power, and one way up into the cab and to the on/off switch.

    so, if your truck has no bed outlet, don't worry about it. if you have a bed outlet here are the different scenarios -

    a: most 2014's and earlier have the metal bracket to hold it in place, no box
    late 2014 and up:
    b: if it is a US made unit with outlet - you have the box
    c: if it is Mexico made unit with outlet - you have the old style bracket

    mystery solved - tho I have no idea why the change was made, probably some liability issue or something, gets too hot, too exposed or whatever. but since it is essentially the same harness I don't see why it could not be relocated for slider install

    I do not ship with Fastenal they are a horrible shipping outlet with too many problems. My customers are welcome to have Fastenal or whoever they like come grab their sliders but I personally don't use them.
