    FYI Tacoma World,

To all those unfortunate 2nd Gen Tacoma owners who are victims of the "more-then-normal corrosion" on their truck frames, here's a little hope please read below. I received this letter on the 15th of March, 2015 and attached everything that came with it.

You're just getting that letter now? My 2008 was inspected and remedied last summer. No corrosion which surprised me since i bought the truck new here in Massachusetts where road salt is plentiful! I wash the under carriage regularly which helped I'm sure.
They coated the frame with some sort of tar like goop.

I recieved my letter a few days ago. Seems like Toyota finally figured out that Iowa is a cold state that uses salt on its roads. The letter really only mentions an inspection and not a remedy. Also, my 08 only has 43000 miles on it. This only extends my frame warrenty for another year. The truck will be just over 7 years old and could have serious frame rot issues. Otherwise, it is a perfecctly healthy truck.

It may be possible the only reason why this letter came to me is because my registration changed from CA to NC within the past year. On that same token being a desert truck rust hasn't been an issue. Though, I wished they covered paint. My roof top didn't hold up as well with the sun.

I kept coming across post where many folks were or had been denied coverage by there dealers and getting nowhere with corporate Toyota. I hope this brings some hope to many though only 30 states currently qualify.
