One can never have too many light bars.
Just started recording the mileage and after a month of 70% City 30% Highway on 91 Octane I'm at 17.6.

Pretty spot on to my 2010 mileage, no lift however. 265/75-16 tires, which are 1" taller than stock and cause the odometer to read 2.5% slow (which will make your gas mileage seem less than it is).

I'm averaging about 19 through the first 7000 miles of ownership. My 08 4cyl 5spd averaged about 21, so I'm pretty happy

I usually get around 20 mpg every tank. It is mostly city driving, some highway. On highway trips, I might see 21-23 during the spring/summer months.

I have a 3" leveling kit and get about 18 to 19 mpg highway on average. Before I'd get like 20 to 21. I also have 265/70/16 tires but I do have a tonneau cover which may help a tad bit.

Just filled up. 20.9 mpg. Not bad considering all in town driving with a lift, plate bumper, AP sliders, and 265 Duratracs

Just wondering for those of you reporting over 20 mpg, specially if that is 'city driving', if you really have a 4WD second gen truck, with the V-6? Are you actually recording the gallons pumped into the tank and dividing them with the actual miles traveled since your last fill up... and not using some toy like a scan gauge that estimates the mileage?

I am in California, and I am sure our 'special formulated' gas has the most ethanol and other non-fuel crap in it, to give us the worst mileage (how does getting less MPGs save the environment?). But, to get that much more 'city' or any MPGs when I am not driving radically on my day to day driving, seems unrealistic. My truck is tuned, the air filter is clean, and the best city (stop signs and stop lights with some highway between cities) mileage is 15 mpg. If I correct for the tires, 15.4 mpg.

The best highway mileage, empty bed, driving to Tucson and back varied between 19. something and 20. something (corrected for tires). That was driving within the speed limit (max 75 in Az and 70 in Ca).

Other highway driving, with stuff in my bed, I get 18, if I am lucky.

So, you 4WDs with the 4.0 V-6, getting more than 20 mpg city (or anywhere)... is that your scan gauge talking or do you drive 55 highway, and get all green lights in the city? Thanks!

    Stock
I just had my best tank yet. First with my new much lighter tires. stock truck with stock sized tires. I had bfg ko2 on there. They were heavy. This time I went with a standard tire. Cooper discovery at3.

348.9 miles took 15.4 to fill it back up. 22.66 mpg

118 miles was 70mph interstate travel. The rest was 17 miles each way to work from camp on country roads 55 mph mostly to 25 mph towns. West Virginia roads. 87 octane from my buddy's gas station. Not sure where he Buys it from.

Not driving down hill with a tail wind. Regular driving. Not trying for Mpg. Not driving like grandpa but not driving like a kid trying to prove something either.

I am interested to see what the next tank yields.

I yield similar results. I get horrible gas mileage in the city (14-15).

My 07, 4X4 double cab usually gets 16-17ish with normal driving around town. Not true city driving, but a mix of small town and rural areas. On interstate driving right at 20.

My stock tires were about 3 mph FAST according to my GPS. When I changed to 265/75/16's my GPS and speedometer are now perfectly in sync

Since I bought my truck last September, my best mileage is 20.5. The weird thing is that mileage was in mixed city/highway driving. I've taken the truck on 2 trips to California and only averaged in the 19's. If I take my Civic on a trip like that, I get 10 mpg more than in the city. Must be aerodynamics and gearing. I don't know.
