Visit Headstrong OffRoad. Their Bilstein 5100 (ToyTec) lift goes for $577.
Good basic 2.5" lift that will serve you well.

You can choose from Old Man Emu or Eibach springs. I personally went with Eibach but many here love the OME. Call Headstrong, Marie will steer you in the right direction.

    Yup.
If your intent is for clearance issues, than buy bigger tires and keep the suspension OEM. If you want to look cool and draw attention and on a budget, than buy a used Tacoma already altered the way you see fit, while some poor sap like myself has already blown their money. I say, save your hard earned $ and spend it on your son. you can still go fishing, exploring the backwoods and getting places all those other lifted trucks you see out there can go.
