    Hello all,

Just wanted to say hello. After a few years of wanting, saving and looking for the right taco I finally bit the bullet. Just purchased a 2013 AC TRD OR 4.0 6-speed in Spruce Mica. Extremely excited for the new vehicle and I've been doing my research on here about some common issues.

I have read through a few of the threads on the throw out bearing issues with the 6 speed. All of the threads I read referenced vehicles from 05-11 or so. Was this issue addressed following 2011? Anyone with a 2012-14 6-speed still experiencing similar issues?

    Thanks in Advance!

I haven't heard of trouble with the '12+ design, and here on TW, one would be sure to hear about any problems like the older ones had.

I wouldn't mind hearing any responses.

Also congrats on the new truck, with three pedals (and cooler ebrake).

I don't know if my video will work but if you have good speakers you can clearly hear the TOB complaining it has to be loud to hear though. I don't know of many other 2012 Tacoma clutch failures, but I do know the last dealer I brought it to says its normal(idiots) and I'm bringing to a different dealer Thursday so wish me luck.

My 06 started at about 55-60,000 and got worse as time went on. Changed it out at 115,000 to a URD kit. No issues since. Just turned 141,000 this morning.

Yes, it worked. And your dealership is 100% correct, there is no issue there, the increased noise from the transmission is totally normal, and is referred to as idle rattle. If you had "THE" release bearing failure, it would sound like a dozen crickets on a summer evening, and become silent when you pushed the clutch pedal down 3/4".

So what exactly changed for 2012-2014 models?

I'm considering ordering the URD kit to fix my '07, but sounds like there is an OEM fix now?

Are 2012+ Tacomas built with updated parts as per page 2 of this TSB?
    http://www.pdf-archive.com/2011/02/19/clutch-bearing-tsb/preview/page/2/

Would that then be a better way to get this fixed? Order OEM parts from the TSB as opposed to ordering URD kit?

Well slightly old thread... But here we go, my 2012 ( tx pro) dcsb v6 6mt that I just picked up with 36k miles has a bad throw out bearing sound. Clutch engaged no sound, no clutch foot on the dead pedal chirp chirp chirp. After a month or so of ownership here I stand with just under 40k miles. I am now going to the dealership for my first oil change and fingers crossed for a smooth warranty repair on my throw out bearing.....

If I can get the part numbers off the part TOB removed and replacement I will post back.

My friends 2011 ( tx pro ) acc v6 6mt @60k miles does not sound bad. I think it may have everything to do with the driver as well. In the case of my truck i suspect the drivers foot always hovered over the clutch and not on the dead pedal.
