Canadian Build Thread

Hi guys, I'm from from Calgary AB.
I picked up my 2015 TRD Sport 6MT a week ago from Canyon Creek Toyota. Took it in to Tacoma Town in Cochrane to get some work done today.
Love this truck!

Day after I picked her up from Canyon creek Toyota

One week later getting New wheels and Bilstein 5100 with Eibach coils installed

Out for a rip in Bragg creek/Moose Mountain area

Is your tonneau the Toyota branded one? That's the one I went with (and yours looks similar), and absolutely love it.

 

Ya I decided to go with the Toyota one as it is pretty slick and looks great. Totally worth the price.

Lovin this truck and looking forward to owning it for many years.

 

Sure is. Mines held up awesome to some pretty serious weather. No leaks so far.

I can usually tell (like 9/10 times) which truck on a drilling location belongs to another Geologist. Almost always a Tacoma, FJ Cruiser, or 4Runner.

Did an FJ Cruiser just roll onto the lease? That's probably my Night Geologist arriving! Haha.

 

Where did you guys get your Pro front grills from? Looks really clean.

Almost all the guys I went to university doing wellsite ended up buying Taco's.

 

Hey not to go off topic but do environmental geologists need a P Ag or P Eng to practice? I've always wondered if it depends on the job or if one sort of covers both for you guys.

 

Got mine off of fleabay. I negotiated a package deal for the headlights and grill. I had them 'free' shipped to relatives in MA and then brought up here.

Environmental Geography (not geology). The degree is geared towards land resource mapping (GIS) and management, ESA's, and urban/rural planning.

An approved degree and CESA (Certified Environmental Site Assessor) designations/courses are required to conduct ESA's in both Phase I and Phase II.

That field of work went down the crapper when the Harris gov't came into power (stripped the MOE and the MNR) just as I was about to graduate, which flooded the private sector with ESA individuals, so I did an extra year of teacher's college (BEd) and became a teacher. This is my second career, as I am also a licensed carpenter, having previously worked in heavy construction for over 20 years.

 

Ah, sorry about that. I just was lurking and for some reason I misread that ten times and became curious.

 

I'm not 100% but I think they fall under P Geo to sign off on anything (or have someone who is sign off on it).

 

Did the dealership lift the truck and put new tires and rims on? Looks pricey but looks awesome congrats!!

Nice truck! I have MT wheels on mine too, but they are the beadlock version... Classic II's.

 

Thanks, I like the look of the beadlock version. I saw the classic II's on a couple other guys' trucks when I was looking for baja style rims and I love these.
