I bought my Tacoma to replace my F250 because I needed a smaller truck that could fit in parking garages and navigate/parallel park on cramped city streets.

The Frontier did offer a lot of things over the the Tacoma such as
    - More interior room
    - More creature comforts (heated seats, leather, seats a little more comfortable (IMO), etc.)
    - Slightly more powerful engine
    - Better handling (on the street at least, more car-like)
    - Bed tie-down system is better
    - Lower cost of entry ($5k+ cheaper than a comparable Tacoma)

I looked at and drove quite a few Frontiers and Tacomas before finally deciding on the Tacoma. The Tacoma has better aftermarket support, better offroad capability, better brand recognition, overall build quality was higher, the Tacoma was better looking, and the resale was a lot better.

The resale value is a big thing to keep in mind. You might pay more for the Tacoma up front, but chances are high you'll get that money back when it's time to sell it, especially with the low mileage you expect to put on the truck.

I married my tacoma likes this.

Op maybe go to a car rental place and try and rent a frontier for a few days so you can see how it actually drives before you commit.
