    Pic request:

Hi all, I'm thinking on keeping weight low for mpg (and commute more comfy) and was wondering if anyone was running Cooper Discoverer S/T 275/70/17s or BFG Rugged Trail 285/70/17s on a 2.5"lift or close to 2.5". If so, would you please post a straight on side shot?

    Thank you,

    - Aaron

thanks, I'm guessing I'll end up with these or Hankooks but noticed the BFD Rugged Trails are only 45 lbs in a 285. Wondering what they look like in this configuration as I don't really need an E rated load range.

I've seen the Duratracs and Hankook ATMs also, just looking to see what 275 C range Cooper S/T & Firestone Destination AT, and Rugged [edit: TERRAIN, not Trail] (285) look like - less weight = maintain stock mpg is the thought.

275/70r17 choices are pretty limited. Keep in mind the lighter the tire, the weaker the sidewall. Those 45 lb tires could slice easily off road, but if you stay on the street it shouldn't matter and your gas needle will drop slower.

My BFG's are load E and ride like shit, but are great when towing. I can't wait to replace them.

I've gone through about 6 sets of BFG ATs (on a wrangler and a 45), I don't actually mind them at all. They've just been on less mileage use vehicles than the tacoma will be used for, so I was exploring going as light as possible (without going 20" wheels!).

With work and a little one schedule, and the new location here it doesn't seem like my very limited offroading (campsight roads, fire roads, and rare dualtrack, and logging roads) are going to be too much concern on the sidewalls. I'm mainly just taking my daughter camping and to/on the beach.

I think the BFGs only come E also now right (KO2), don't see too many KOs in stock this week...

I think all tires this size are load E, correct me if I'm wrong.

I am moving up to 285's later this year. I will probably try out the mastercraft courser mxt, it has good reviews and a great price.

    I'm not sure

My next size will most likely be 255/80/17
