Yeah, the top is heavy gauge diamond plate steel - basically it's built like a tank - not sure if I'll use it - might sell it instead - :not sure:

Not sure yet - my dad and cousin have both expressed interest. My dad is the one who found it and knew it was something I was looking for.

It's getting its engine rebuilt in June and an AAL to help the rear-end sag. He though about the trip but its going to be in the shop then and it still has now worn skinny 28's - he's not sure what size he'll go up to but doesn't want to re-gear so probably 31's max. We did a test fit of my 265/75/16's while I was getting my tires and wheels swapped between my previous '03 extended cab and double cab I have now - they fit with little rubbing lock to lock - but not sure about flexing

Is it stock height? I think the 31's would look good on there. A friend of my dad had a '91 with stock tires and stock height, and it really didn't look too bad. He eventually went to something just a little bigger, probably around 31's, and it came out looking really good with no trimming at all. It matched the ride height and the style. He didn't do any serious offroading, just some trail riding in the mountains (when I lived in Colorado) and some camping. So it worked great for his purpose.

He's getting motor rebuilt... Just about that time? Or is he losing compression, etc. ?

Been losing compression and water for a quite a while - but finally in a position to fix it (and got plugged into to the people who specialize in the 22RE. My dad has similar plans for the 4runner. Wants to do trails and roads in CO, but also get there comfortably pulling his teardrop

Just gonna say.... I sure hope that snorkel gets in before the trip. Because this makes me nervous as hell with all the rain we've gotten. The trail will most definitely be wet!

I'm still not sure I'm gonna switch but I paid $1465 for it. Make an offer.
