So I have 255/80/17's didn't have no rub put on my .75" spacers and now I rub my flare and fender liner in the back of the front wheel wells. I guess it's time to trim more or lose the spacer. I already trimmed the flares in the front so I think I'm gonna lose the spacer will see I still am very happy with this tire

image.jpg So I just got back from Moab and I have to say the ST Maxx performed awesome! I aired down to 15psi for awhile and ran the rest of the time at 18psi. Great flex and super sticky. I had no problems with traction and these are some amazingly tough tires! I ran the dirt and gravel roads at 30psi. Nothing but good things to say about these tires on the rocks.

Does anybody know how much I'll rub with 255/80/17 on a wheel with 4.5 backspacing -6 offset?

Any milage reports? I know most people don't care about MPG on here, but the milage I'm getting right now with my nitto trail grapplers is so pathetic, I'm getting 11.5-12mpg with 265/70/17 nittos, and I want to get the cooper st maxx because it has great tread, ability, and style, and from what I've heard is decent milage

Ouch... That's terrible. On my recent 3200 mile trip my best tank mpg was 18.7 and worst was 14.8. The 14.8 had nearly 200 miles of off highway/off roading. 265/75/16

Damn that's pretty good for that size, I'm totally going to buy some now. Honestly seeing them on your build is what drove me to consider them lol, do you think a 285 st maxx would still be better than the 265/70/17 nittos?

I can't say for sure, but my next set will probably be the Maxx in 285/75/16 or 255/85/16. A guy is selling a set of 285's with less than 3k miles on them here locally for 550 bucks and I am really considering it just for an extra set of tires for my other wheels...

Got my 285/75/16 ST Maxx in today! Ordered a set of 4 from Amazon and got them in about 4 days to Alaska! Paid $248 per tire and got free shipping! Can't wait to mount them! Waiting on some suspension goodies and new wheels!

I must say that I am very impressed with these tires. I just did a 2500 mile trip and they were perfect.
On the highway they are super quiet but even more impressive was the off highway.
In the rocks they flex great and have traction for days. They also didn't chunk at all and I was spinning them like crazy over the rocks. I have them in 285/75/16.

Just the essentials and no extra fluff.
I have 235/85-16s installed on my truck running at 36 psi. The weight to balance varied from 2.25 ounces up to 7.75. There seems to be a bit of vibration and maybe some associated wheel hop. 7.75 seems to be on the high side. Should I have these road force balanced?

Anyone have pics of a 255/80/17 on a second gen with a 3" lift? Just curious what they look like, also, what the rubbing issues would be.
