Has anybody ever attempted to cut up a mesh grill and put an LED bar into the grill itself and not behind it? If so please share

Yes I've seen those but if im not mistaken you buy the LeD bar separate which is much more expensive than what I could pay for just a normal LED bar and a DIY project. If I bought one of those grills could I buy a brand other than rigid industries and get it to fit in the cut out of the grill?

Just the grill itself is over $400.

I've not seen anybody DIY there own in a similar form, but would be nice to see someone go for it, instead of buying the Rigid combo which is over $1k with the bar.

Are you looking to duplicate what they did? Looks like you would just need fairly stout mesh then chop out a portion and replace with some bar stock. You could also just form the mesh around the light housing then mount it to the plastic of the grill, not sure which would provide a sturdier mounting option. I think the bar stock would make it look cleaner but I'm sure you could do it either way and make it look pretty good if you did it yourself. Be the first and let us see how it goes!
