Got bored this afternoon and realized I had extra tubing from the tire gate, so I built a frame to mount my scepter can carrier to. It's welded together just not to the truck and not to the can carrier.

I'm enjoying the welding, but I really don't like welding what I would call a "butt splice"
(not sure if that's proper terminology)

Yeahhhhhh, I was kinda thinking that too....

I'm definitely going to need to box the frame, before I put that on and fill the cans with water.

Man I just used a bit of 1" square tubing to mount that same carrier on the bumper I made. All you need. That's major overkill and too much weight IMO.

Gotcha, I was just a bit concerned because 10 gallons of water is 83 some lbs. and it cantilevers out 18" from its mounting point. :notsure:

Run tube from the bottom of the cans to the swingout. To brace the the bottom. That'll be more then enough.

    haha nothing wrong with that!

But you'll want to save some weight off the swing arm anyways.

It is a short swing out though it's only about 16" in total length so there wouldn't be much sag in it. I still agree it's way to heavy for what it is.

:ohsnap: Haha, I still don't think it was that treacherous of a road.... Dusty yes!

 your first on the slowly growing list of amazing failures on the way to the parking lot..... i feel bad it happened to an east coaster, but it's good they made it out safe
