    Any of the switches that illuminate when your headlights are tuned on I guess preference being given to whatever is closest to keep things simple.

    We're getting closer. Thank you for the assistance. The switch has 2 wires that need to be tapped into other sources and the rest are part of the wiring harness, 5 wires total. I need to read the directions again, but I think these both need to be power wires. There are 2 ground wires on the switch (black) and they are in the harness. I think the green wire will be right one to use.

    Correct on the dimmer. On the ignition depends on how you want it to run. If you want it only to run while the truck is started then you need to use an add a fuse tapped into a fuse slot that only has power while the truck is started. Regardless of how it is hooked up you will want the power to be fused which I don't see as being built in with the schematic.

    King ext travel coilovers, Icon tubular UCA's Rear-King "Tundra" 2.5's, Allpro Expos, TRD cat-back, Hurst/Core short shift kit, etc...
    If I remember correctly, the positive dimmer wire is not the one that actually dims it. The negative dimmer wire is the one working off the dimmer wheel. So if just tapping off the positive dimmer wire, it will not dim, it'll just go on full bright when they are on.

    I believe you are correct and the dimming function on our trucks is accomplished through the negative wire. From what I recall the negative wire gets voltage introduced to it to start dimming the bulb.

    You are correct that hooking up the positive dimmer wire will provide only full brightness to the switch when the dash is illuminated and will not be able to be dimmed down with the rest of the switches.

    I guess this is worth bringing up for him to know though.

    You could hook up the negative lead but it would actually dim in reverse of all the other switches.

    The switch has a "running light" and an "on" light for when the compressor is on.
