Looking a way to fix this...
'14 Nav Radio that I added to my '11 Access Cab has become stuck on the screen showing the Toyota logo. Happened when I started the truck one morning. It will stay on this screen for about 5 minutes then acts as if it is turning itself off (screen goes dark for 5 secs and back to this same screen). I can press the volume knob and get the screen to go off (as if turning off the radio manually) but it comes right back to the logo. I have checked all the fuses and connections on the back of the radio. Rear view camera is connected to the radio and still works fine.

    Any suggestions?

KyleNowad - it worked fine for about 8 months.

Since I am way out of any warranty, is this a case of taking the radio to get it updated or will they be able to update it with it installed? One note that might be important, this is installed in a 2011 that only has the Aux input - no USB). Any idea if that would an issue?

Maybe the first step need to be to add the USB connection!

    Appreciate the input!

It appears that the software has crashed.

Have you tried removing power from the radio, either by removing the fuse, or disconnecting the battery for a few minutes, to allow a fresh bootup?

Also, you might try removing the micro SD card. Perhaps that card got corrupted and the radio is stalling trying to read from it.

I did try removing and reattaching each of the plugs on the back - but now that I think about the way that I did it, I may not have ever removed ALL potential power sources at the same time... will pull the battery cable to see if that might work. Thanks for making me think about a full power down again.

Well, the full power down did not work - disconnected the battery for over 15 minutes but still stuck on the same screen when it powered up. Next step is to get the USB installed and then to a dealer to see if it can be reprogrammed.

You could try taking out that Micro SD card, and see if it starts up correctly. If that card is corrupted, it could stop the radio from starting up.

Where did you get the nav unit? Just curious. There's another member that sells them on here.

Really surprised that a radio you bought from FLTrucks and installed in a 2011 Tacoma was covered under dealer warranty.

Umm... "edge it's" truck is a 2013 with an (apparently) factory installed radio. The OP had the 2011 . . .

DES2009 is correct - I have no expectation that my radio issues will be covered Toyota - Finally got the connection needed to do the USB install - hopefully will be able to get to a dealer next weekend to see if they can revive it. If not, I will get back on the list with FLTrucks for another one.

    Mine randomly does this too...
It will be all fine for days then I'll be driving and the screen freezes where it's at still playing music for like 2-3 mins...after that it turns off completely and the start up screen stays up for 3-5 mins and restarts it self

:notsure: no idea what it's doing

Have you tried removing that SD card, just to see if it boots up without it?

If you're looking to buy a replacement, send me a PM. I may be getting rid of my 3-month old Entune Premium w/Nav... I'm looking at going to an aftermarket solution.

Well... have tried restarting the radio without the SD card - no go. Restarted with the SD card reinserted - no go. Finally had time to stop by the local dealer and ask them about it. Service writer took one look and said that they had seen this before - nothing they can do regarding. Stated they had tried reprogramming and that apparently seems to help if this issue is intermittent. When stuck on the logo screen with no sound, replace it...
Time to reach out to FLTruck for another one

Are you going to purchase another one, or will FLTrucks warranty/replace the unit?

I have reached out to FLTrucks to put my name back on the list - I am confident that if he can offer some assistance, he will. If not, I do actually prefer this unit over some of the aftermarket Nav systems I looked at (and generally more expensive), so will simply purchase another one
