Swithched from dealer oil to Mobil1 fully synthetic at 35k. After about 1000 miles the oil is noticeably dirtier on dipstick than it had been previously when I was running conventional.

Is this because the synth is cleaning out the conventional oil still?

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
I'd replace the filter only a couple of times over the next month or so unless you just want to change it all out again but let it drain for a good hour or so before refilling.

Please don't use oil color as a gauge on if it's "dirty" or not. It's the detergent doing its job. The only way to know if it's worn out is to have it tested. Dark oil doesn't mean it's worn out but worn out oil will be dark.

I've heard synthetic is higher in detergents, so i figure it's just getting rid of some the left over dino. I assume it will stay cleaner after my next couple oil changes. When I was running dino, it would stay clear on the stick for the whole 5k...

I also just switched to synthetic after 110K mi. I checked the level after changing the filter and noticed that it was darker but thought nothing or it. My engine actually sounds better and feels smoother. As others have said I thought nothing of the color and I plan on changing it every 10K mi.
