So instead of dumping more money into the appearance of my truck I'm going to do some maintenance!

I need new front lower ball joints...am I going to need an alignment after I install them? What brand do y'all recommend? Moog? Oem?

And where did y'all buy them from for the best deal?

    Thanks for any help?

Moog imo, closest to stock and are greasable too.

i forgot how much they cost cuz my mechanic sent the arms to get the old joints pressed out and new ones in...i just took them off from the truck. if you can mark where your lcas sit then you can get them back on pretty close to where they where without and alignment but i would recommend getting one anyways.

I would get an alignment after changing them. I would also be checking the tie rod ends before I ordered the parts, and replace them at the same time if required.

I have seen good things about Moog parts, and RockAuto.com offers reasonable prices. They also give a discount to Tacoma World members. Look up their page on here for details.

Yes I do plan on changing the tie rod ends to. Just the outer right? The inners don't wear do they?

Yea I think I'm going to just get all of the parts at once and just go ahead and get an alignment. I'll be getting some replacement Lightweight racing upper ball joints.

Anything else you guys recommend do complete my front end maint?

Inners can wear... if there's play in the inners while you have it apart, replace them too.

Moog would be my choice if OEM isn't a option. They are the closest to OEM quality. Rockauto.com gets my vote too for fast shipping and services

How many miles are you guys at by the time you are replacing your LBJ? I'm going to be doing the ECGS diff bushing and replacing the front bearings soon ... so I want to do all this work at once and at the same time. Need to inspect my Tie Rods, although there is less work involved in removing/replacing those.

    Currently 105k miles; 2006 4x4 DC.
