Warn M8000-s or VR10000-s?

Been doing a lot more severe stuff lately and have a few questions about winches.
This comes after a bad experience with a cheep winch. I had a 10k Champion that failed while I was stuck in snow and when I say failed, it didn't stall, the chassis failed... it broke in half. We were not on a steep slope and we were not winching at a severe angle. I learned my lesson on ignoring advice on getting a cheap winch.
I'm trying to decide on my next winch. Either a warn VR10000 or M8000 with synthetic rope.
8K enough for our trucks for getting out of deep snow and mud with steep inclines or should I go with a 10k? I'm using a reciever hitch mount if that matters.
Also is there a big quality difference between the VR's and Ms? The zeon and xd's are more than what i want to spend.

Just my two cents, but I'd go with an Engo 9000s for around $500.

I've had mine for about 3 or 4 years and used it a half dozen times.

They did well on the 4wheel magazine winch shoot out.
