My wife's Tacoma a 1997 xtra cab with an automatic with a column shifter is having problems.
When we shift from drive into park, aren't you suppose to turn the key to the off position with out to much difficult?
To tun the key to off we have to play with the gear selector. What part or bushing or ? ,do I have to replace to fix it?
    Thanks

sounds like the shift adjustment is off a little, its not something you should ever need to adjust (not sure if there is an adjustment for it) but my bet is if you check the shifter linkage under the truck you will find a shift linkage bushing or something has worn out and needs to be replaced

Thanks I will look today. I was thinking it would be in the column since it's near the key.
    Have a great day.
