So this is my 98 Tacoma that I use as my hunting truck. It has 325,000 miles with original motor and tranny. I have had this Warn 8274 winch for about 2 years now and finally decided to put it on the ole Yota. Not wanting to spend a ton of money I decided to take matters in my own hands and weld together a mount(Spent a total of $38 for the steel). Tell me what y'all fellas think. I need to cut out a hole for the cable and mount the roller. This is what it looks the project looked like and the final outcome(without the roller).IMG_2864.jpgIMG_2864.jpgIMG_2863.jpgIMG_2862.jpgIMG_2861.jpgIMG_2860.jpgIMG_2844.jpgIMG_2843.jpgIMG_2842.jpgIMG_2841.jpgIMG_2840.jpgIMG_2839.jpgIMG_2838.jpgIMG_2837.jpgIMG_2836.jpgIMG_2835.jpgIMG_2834.jpgIMG_2833.jpg

Gotta love the welding and cutting in shorts !!

I can see one thing it will only effect who is around the truck.

Lots of sharp corners left on your fabrication nothing like being in a hurry and catch your inner thigh on one of those corners or your head if your coming out from under the truck.

I kinda like mounting the winch like you would a trailer hitch ball, that way you can just put it in the box when you don't need it and it can be used at either end. A hitch mount looks a lot cleaner as well.

Yeah I agree with y'all. It was just a measure once kind of job. As long as it works I'm good with it!
