Long Travel BS Thread

    DTF race kit, DTF front bumper, king 10"dual rate shocks, URD CAI, total chaos upper control arm brackets, method race wheels, 35/12.5/17 bfg ko2, mcneil TT bedsides, custom SLX Motorsports front fenders, fox bump stops
    use some galvinized tubing from home depot... use a hammer and smash both ends, drill a hole for the bolt and mount them up.. works awesome and holds up really well

    I put mine behind the back seat on the passenger side to help combat the weight from the gas tank on the driverside

    And so it is... Maybe I shouldn't work so much OT.... As much as I like the new sites look still haven't figured out where stuff moved. It's easy on the desk top but my phone is kinda different.

    Aww I see, I rarely get on with my phone. Always have my personal laptop next to my work computer so I always use that. I see what you are saying now that the mobile site doesn't show signatures.

    What are your guys opinions on solo motorsports +2 Long travel? I never really knew they existed haha. I was going to go with total chaos +2 but now I'm not sure, especially since Rock Lobster has the +2 solo kit for sale... Do you think total chaos is worth the extra dough? It's mostly for a crawling application.

    The guys at solo are great! Their regular kit looks insane. I'm going to have them do my bronco in the hopefully near future. Their work is definitely top notch.

    image.jpg So heres the cv boot. I had the clamps very tight before, now they are just cinched so grease doesn't leak out. Any ideas ? Are the boots already done?

    since they are starting to split, I would do the smart thing and replace them before they leave you stranded while you're out and about

    I would spend the 2hrs to change them out...mainly because I hate cleaning grease that flings all over the suspension.

    Try using a CV band and not a hose clamp when you redo them. Its really easy to get a standard worm gear clamp too tight which will cut into the boot and cause it to prematurely fail.

    Don't run a clamp on the lower part of the boot. I never ran them on mine with no issues! No leaks and no debris, including water got inside. My 1st set lasted over a year before starts to split in the seems in between a fin.

    I tried no clamps and there was grease everywhere lol so that didn't work. How long do you think until the boots rip conpletely? I have loosed the hose clamp significantly

    Did u try pushing the boot up and wiping the grease off the shaft then sliding it back down? Next time u do new boots try it with no clamp on bottom, and don't smear grease on shaft or that part of boot if u can avoid it. Like I said mine never had any issues with no clamps. Once my cracks in the fins started to seep I changed them but I let one go for a lil while and it would just seep a lil bit and fling it all around the suspension. It didn't just let go completely like a full ripped boot.
