I'm going to let the new leaf packs settle in a little bit to see what I'm going to want to do with the front. May add in some spacers and If I do that I want to align it only one more time and be done with it finally. So probably give it a few hundred more miles or so.

I want to get a supercharger so bad but like you said the price tag is quite hefty. I don't mind losing mpg I just want the additional torque that comes with it.

The initial price tag is the big one & it never ceases to amaze me how many people think having to run premium gas as a reason to not get one. So you're cool with ~$6k in hard parts & labor but an extra $1.50 per gas tank is just too much to swallow. Uhmm.... okay. Seems legit. Usually those people aren't too serious about paying the initial ~$6k in the first place or they would realize that's the largest financial decision in the entire process.

6k is a big bill.. additional cost for gas isnt a big deal and also gas in AZ is cheap anyway.. lol. I have plenty of money now that the wife is gone and debt is paid off... time to take care of a guy that has 2 thumbs and looks like me!!! YAY!! lol.

Sounds like a good plan to me. If the initial expense isn't going to break the bank then mod away and don't worry about the tens of dollars spread out over weeks/months after the fact. You'll be happy you did.

Jer, how did the supercharger feel compared to stock? I haven't ridden in very many hot rods but flooring it today for the first time in forever felt great. I couldn't imagine what it feels like super charged. Is it night and day or are you underwhelmed? Also, did the weight of the bumpers make the truck feel noticeably slower to you? Thanks and again, loving your build.

I'll answer for you because I had a stock Taco before switching to Tundra, and I drove Jers SC Taco with some encouragement from him to "get on it."

It's quite fun! I don't know the weight of his bumper (haven't driven it since he for the bumper on) but with the power of the SC, I can't imagine it making it too much of a difference.

Thanks  so quite fun is expected lol but do the 50 horses feel worth the cost of a sc to you? Considering one in the future.

Absolutely, especially at the weight of a Taco. Now, if he was pushing 35's and heavy front and rear bumpers, along with heavy wheels...it wouldn't be as fun. If you can get used to the noise it makes when it kicks in, you'll be fine.

Great! Thanks again! Now the only problem is I might want both a s/c and 35s lol

Jer, still looking forward to your opinion!

My opinion? Supercharger and 35's is better than no supercharger and 35's. :D

I have an All-Pro front plate bumper and a Relentless rear bumper and didn't notice much of a difference in acceleration really. I thought it would be more noticeable but as of now, it's not.

As to get a supercharger or not; if it's in the budget go for it. This idea I see people throwing around that it has to be a certain amount of dollars per hp gained I don't get. If you have the budget it adds the most amount of horsepower you can add to these trucks while keeping any remaining warranty. It's Toyota fit, finish & reliability. Adding nearly 50% power increase to ANY power plant is a significant increase. Hell, people spend nearly $500 on a CAI that does basically nothing for them.

It doesn't matter how it feels with bumpers or 35's or whatever because the bottom line is that no matter what, it's still substantially faster than the exat same truck w/o a supercharger. If you want a fast car I wouldn't buy a Tacoma to begin with. If you love Tacomas and want it to be peppy and fun to drive and it's within the budget throw a s/c on it and you'll love it that much more. It really is a fun truck to drive and years later I still enjoy driving it every time I climb in. I can't say that I'd feel the same if it wasn't supercharged. Not sure how else to explain it really.

These aren't just parts you order from Amazon.com. You have to use a police supply vendor and most won't sell you civilians and only sell to agencies in larger quantities.

    Thanks man!

I added a few more mods and have a couple more on-deck waiting for time to install.

Last week I installed some 3/4" ToyTec top plate spaces to the front and set my 5100's back to the first setting up from zero which is just shy of 1" (0.85 I believe). The rear Dakar leaf pack settled hardly any at all so even with plate bumpers the rear was sitting about 2.5" higher than the front. I don't mind a slight rake (prefer level) but that was just too much. I figured if I took an inch or so out of that I'd get an even more aggressive stance and get it closer to level. It doesn't appear that I added any more harshness to the ride as the lower setting on the 5100's doesn't compress the springs too much at all. I also shimmed up the carrier bearing to cure a small take-off vibe I had between 5-10mph after the Dakar rear springs were added. I also installed a set of LR UCA's so that I can get my alignment exactly where I want it since the previous lift components threw that all out of whack.

I also picked up a new 12,000lb winch from Harbor Freight that was on sale for $299. It gets solid ratings and should meet my needs just fine assuming it doesn't crap out. That will go on probably this week sometime, possibly next week depending on how things go.

Winch installed last night so now that all the weight is added and suspension is pretty much done I'm going to get it aligned one more time today. Hopefully everything is done for a while now as far as suspension & alignment stuff goes.
