I did. I blasted it for an hour on the same black plug. However the weather was very hot and very humid so I didnt get the real results i was looking for. Bike did not stutter or give any performance issues.
Plug was still black however when i roll on the throttle there was no bog down low like i used to get occasionally.
I was riding in sand pits today so it was harder than usual to get the front end up.
I will keep it at these settings for the next ride and see what happens. There was also a little spooge on the muffler when i finished but figure this is due to the hot day and high humidity...

P.S. even though I only moved it one clip position, i was terrified that i was going to be running too lean.

^Good year. You have pretty much all the updates and before they went to the stupid "euro" spec that gave them all long silencers

Yeah, I am actually somewhat glad that nothing big has been changed since then...therefore I dont have a reason or temptation to get a new one. Although the '15 KTM 250SX has caught my eye...a few times.

I kept mine...never really had much of a reason to change it. I saw no point in making it louder or quieter. I also didnt want to change anything that could affect the powerband. I like the way it is stock. It doesnt however have the obnoxious Euro one or whatever.

I'm converting religions. Selling a DR-Z 400e and going to look for a used smoker between the typical price range $1500-2500, 2000-2002 for green sticker purposes in CA.

Been riding for a few yrs and need something sharper and precise vs a hammer. The DR-Z served its purpose, and has a strong reliable motor.

Looking at RM 250, YZ 250, something in the range

I ditched my long silencer and pipe for a FMF fatty pipe and shorty silencer. I like the way it runs. Like stock just better.

The long silencer is pretty good though. Still have the stock stuff in a box in the garage.

The stock pipe is known to be very good on the yz. I'm currently running the fmf gnarley and turbine core II silencer. It's like a freaking tractor, sooo awesome in the woods.

I have no idea on the performance, its just one of my weird preferences. I never liked silencers that stuck out past the number plate, and now the new 4 strokes make the plate so small it doesnt cover any of the pipe, I dont like those at all. The number plates on yours look good because the silencer is still hidden behind the plate

I have the FMF pipe and long & short silencer. I prefer the short silencer. I'm trying to locate a oem stock honda pipe & silencer for my 01 500, keep me in mind if anyone comes across one.
