    EDIT FROM MODS:
If you're just tuning in now @skygear failed to provided service/parts to members of the forum as well as other forums. After almost a year behind on sending his product to the members, staff was made aware and stepped in to try to help. He was able to complete and send 3-4 of the missing members product with the push from staff. Over the holidays he slowed down/stopped making progress on the orders and talking with staff/members less and less. Staff hasn't received word from him since Jan 11 and the last actual progress we have seen from him was Dec 8.

I am posting this to give fare warning to all of Taomaworld. AVOID the vendor on here named skygear.

April 26th i sent funds for agreed upon box and components, no wiring.

May 21st he said he would package up my components up.

May 23rd said he had it boxed up and would ship Monday.

He will not reply to pm's for a tracking number or to refund my money.

    I know i am not alone. @jc1980 @DMart

    BE AWARE!!!!

Really dude? If you paid attention, Skygear is on a USA wide road trip to install his CUSTOM box and electronics in customers cars. There are people waiting ALOT longer than you for his one of a kind stuff. Instead of slandering a guy all over TW why don't you put in for your paypal refund and go on about your day.

I've talked to him on the phone and don't question that he's a legit, stand up family man who is pretty intelligent and moral/ethical.

I know that doesn't help anybody who experienced otherwise with him, but I agree the communication to his customers is really poor, and my best guess is that he didn't expect the amount of orders that he received, wasn't prepared for the time/materials/money handling for that amount of buyers, and for whatever reason isn't communicating the reality of where he sits or really taken any of the complaints (there are many) head on and addressed them specifically until resolved. That much I am surprised about.

I still give him the benefit of the doubt that all will be made right, and would like to see him confront the issues with customers and make things known, and make things right.

    Just my .02.

He will make it right, trust me. He is a busy family man who is also doing a cross country trip at the moment. Give it time.

    EDIT - 5/23/18 - He won't. Avoid him.

I mean, if you look, when he does update his for sale thread, he's in the road, working on orders when he can and installing at meets. He's got orders for parts set up to deliver at his next locations. I'll agree it looks like he's in over his head on orders, but for people to just sit here and cry about not receiving an order when he's been pretty open about his life on all of this, that's just ridiculous. Put in for your refund through paypal or your CC and move along. I hate seeing dirty laundry made public like this. There are plenty of happy customers of his with zero issues.

I did file a claim with paypal, he did not respond to it and the claim closed. No refund.
Three times he said that he had it boxed and would ship. Nothing was ever shipped.

I don't know what to tell you bro. I've always had my refunds orocessed, EVERYTIME, because I put down exactly what happened and usually upload copies of emails or messages sent to prove I made every contact I could. Usually Paypal will give you your refund with no seller response.

Yeah, this doesnt make any sense,
I really hate it when this happens. People know in todays world not everything is as simple as they think. We don't own big ass chains, nor have 10 staff members to attend to every single need. Often the items have to pass through many hands as well. Yes communication can be improved, Does he have your cell number, or direct email address. I know personally i find it to be very tough to deal with issues or business for that matter via pm. Man i get lost in the inbox lol

If the direct customer service is the issue, I'm sure he will fix that and address it but as people said he's on a trip That EVERYONE knows about since its always out there continually being bumped.

I dunno, i got his back on this one either way

    But how about his communication?

Just a bystander looking in, but sometimes question how some people are defended on this forum. I don't doubt the guy will deliver all his orders, but clearly he has multiple unhappy customers, whether that be from lack of communication or communicating false information. His work may in fact be awesome, he may be a busy family man and a good guy, but it seems his business skills are lacking, and for that, I will avoid ordering from him and hope the OP gets his order/refund sorted out.

After reading this thread and another one for brute force, it is clear that these guys have the demand. Why not scale and hire some people? If the demand is so great that it can't be kept up with surely they could raise their prices to make up this extra cost. At the least sub the work out and just be quality control.

I was on his list for a while but pulled back as I can't justify the purchase. You guys have to understand there's members on here that started as members and made some custom one-off part that spun into multiple orders coming in. So a business model may never enter the equation. He's behind on his orders and factor in traveling across the country will take time away from building custom boxes for each order.
