anyone have problems with their weathertechs?
i have a set front and back but the front mats are starting to curl near the edges of the door. the driver side is not curing as bad, which is surprising because you would think the side that would curl first would be the driverside because that side of the truck is used more often.

but nope... the passenger side is actually curled way worse and i dont know whats causing it because that door is not used as often.

i take them out to dust them off and occasionally wash them with just water and a rag (i dont use soap so the dont get discolored) and i dry them with a towel and then let them dry

i wrote this post to see if anyone else has this problem and also to see if there is anything i can do to get them back to the right form

pictures went a little crazy...not sure what happened but some are posted more than once. there is only one pic of the driverside

    Some stuff...
How old are they? The WTs in my wife's Tahoe that are several years old are beginning to curl, but for some reason they've never fit well.

try heating them with a heat gun/hair dryer and re-molding them. if that doesnt work, weathertech has a return policy and should honor it

i may call weathertech just to see what they say about it and if they do honor their return policy ill take them up on it. it kinda sucks because people who do get into my truck on the passenger side always hit it

When I bought my 2013 Taco I ordered a set of weathertechs but the passenger side mat was elevated a little by the door sill and the passenger side door would strike it. I had the dealer I bought them from contact Weathertech and they advised me they never had an issue before so they stood by their product. I would say the door is what may have made it worse in your case once it started to lift. I then ordered a set of Husky Xact fit liners and they fit like a glove and are softer and pliable. I would call weathertech though and see what they say. Good luck.

My passenger side WT didn't fit well from the get go. Called then after about 2 weeks and they shipped me another one right out, just sent them a picture of it and gave them my order number. All is good now. That was about 5 months ago and it still looks good. Must have had a bad batch or something.

I dont have these, but my father has WTs in his Challenger, and they look exactly like yours do. Hes had them about 2 or 3 years. I noticed them when I rode in it last, and thought it was very strange. May be a WT thing?

Double sided tape and crank the heat for a hour?

I gave away two sets of factory mats on Craigslist last week or I'd throw them your way.

If WT politely invites you to have sex with yourself, try the heat gun method like Jason suggested. I'd heat them while out of the truck and over-bend it as your doing it.

Interesting, I haven't seen it but of course the WTs in my Tacoma are new. I did have a set in my Jeep Wrangler for 6 years without a problem. I too think a call or email to WT would be worth a try.

It might be a shot in the dark but are you sure they are the proper fit for your vehicle, if that is not the problem then WT should stand behind them, personally I have always been happy with the WT Customer Service Dept.

This happened to my WT's when my sister kicked up the passenger side floor mat and shut the door. So then everytime someone would open and close the door, the mat could get peeled back more and more. Eventually I noticed the door not closing correctly and saw the mat all tangled up like yours. The plastic that weathertech uses is very malleable. What I did was took the mats out of the car and got something heavy (like a phone book) some pieces of wood and flattened it out and let it sit over night. The next day, the mats were just like new again. A heat gun or a powerful hair dryer would probably soften it enough to bend it back as well(as others have suggested).

Those are horrible! I would definitely give them a call.

    Glad I bought Husky Liners.

well thanks for all the replies. i emailed the customer service with the same exact thing i posted here and here is what they told me:

"Thank you for your interest in MacNeil Automotive.

Looking at the photos, the retention devices are not installed. This is allowing the FloorLiners to slide and lose their shape. The best suggestion I can offer is to bend the edges back so that the FloorLiners are turned inside out. If you leave them like this overnight, the edges should return to their original shape. If you provide us with your mailing address, we can send out some new retention hooks to install before you put the mats back in the vehicle.

Our warranty is three years against manufacturing defects to the original purchaser. As you have had the mats for about two years, I would assume that they are past the warranty period at this point.

Please let us know if you have further questions and we will be happy to help."

i will be sending the address to get the retention hooks but i highly doubt that those little hooks could keep the whole side of the mat from curling like that.

idk ill give it a try and if it dont work i may look into husky liners

I believe that the problem is caused by the edge of the mats not fitting under the edge of the door when it closes.

While sitting inside the. Truck take a paint stirrer stick or stiff ruler and hold the edge of of the mat down against the door jamb while closing the door. If the door passes over the mat then it should return to the uncurled position.

Ughhh you gave them an "out". Did your truck not come with hooks? I seriously doubt that is what caused that problem but the fact that you don't have the retention hooks could probably justify them giving that reason. Lame, but probably how it is.

I've had weathertechs in the past. I believe they are overrated. They are worshiped on this site though, so my opinion is not a popular one.

I have the OEM rubber mats. Yeah, a little sand and dirt gets on the carpet along the edges that needs to be vacuumed occasionally. Oh...the Horror!
