So just recently my a/c (on max a/c) has become quite weak. It's still cool, but no where as cold as it was a few weeks ago. Normally i have to turn it down because of it being too cold.
Should i try to do the a/c recharge stuff ive seen?
Also, normally i get a puddle under my car after parking using the A/c.. now there isn't one, could this be a blocked drainage tube?
2012 dclb prerunner - 27,000 miles. Shouldnt have issues with the a/c already...

2012 take it to dealer for free if they cover it. If not hook up gauges and check the gas. If it's not removing heat due to lost freon it wouldn't cause the condensation under the truck but it won't hurt to check. Is the compressor running consistent or kicking on and off or not running at all?

If you're getting a constant hissing noise in the cab, after the ac comes on, it's almost certainly a low charge (possible leak) if the compressor is not cycling on/off (running constantly or nearly constantly). It should cycle after it's been on awhile to keep from over-cooling the system an you'll notice slight engine speed changes when the compressor engages and disengages.
Get it in to dealer b/f the 3/36 is over. In my '12 prerunner i get a temporary hissing noise as the refrigerant charge builds (about 3 seconds) and then it's cold.
If you're getting no drip from the drainage tube on the pavement, the evaporator is definitely not producing the cooling needed. It's unlikely the drainage tube is blocked.
Dealer should check for leaks and properly charge it. There is a possibility of a blocked/defective expansion valve too.

Additional information: if the 3/36 is over and you don't want to pay the dealer, you may want to try the recharge kits at Walmart. I've used them and they work well, but you'll have to be familiar with the procedures of charging a system.

Try a recharge it's cheap and 80% of the time it solves the problem. At least for me.

Shouldnt have to worry about cost since you are within the 3 year 36K warranty.

Don't know since I bought mine new and in 35 years behind the wheel its the only one new enough to have a warranty. I assume just go to any Toyota dealer and ask them to take a look under warranty. Then they check your odometer and say "okay." Before ya go make sure that's all you want them to loom at including any TSBs. There is a TSB thread here in the second gen forum.

As long as you aren't past the 3/36 they will have that info so nothing other than explaining the issue

Heard 21oz from the can. Mine is recommended. If you have some laying around imo try it. If it doesnt work an its in warranty take it to a dealer. They are likely to get the vin, ask a question or two. An have ya wait.
An I had a drain plug clogged, it left "water" in the passenger floor board.

Your welcome, come back here will ya, an let us know the gist of it, if the can worked or if something needed fixed at the dealership.
Could be it was undercharged, or a factory issue that needs known.

If it is under warranty take it to them and let them do it right esp if you want it to work properly.

If it is low where did the coolant go? It doesn't just disappear. Low coolant in the AC means that you have a leak that needs to be addressed.

These " DIY " kits are crap and you may do more harm than good. I know they make it look so simple on the advertising, but an over charge is just as bad as an undercharge.
