Shouldn't really need to trim with 255's , assuming stock wheels without spacers

Most people go with 255s because of that very fact. My 255/85/16 STMaxx with steelies stuff nicely.

First time post on this thread but long time reader, I have an access cab and going to need new shocks soon. So figured I'd spend a little extra and lift my truck while I'm at it and use it as an excuse. I've heard that 885 coils are for double cabs and 884 coils are recommended for access cabs, is this true?

I wanna do 885 coils, 5100 all the way around and Dakar leaf springs 2" in the back.

    Correct, stock wheels, no spacing.

Which means you didn't have to do any trimming even at that size?

    Thanks for the help guys.

Dakars will give you closer to 3". Sometimes 2.5, sometimes 3.5.

If you only want 2" consider a different leaf pack, or the cheap route, a 2" Add A Leaf to go with your stock leaf pack.

Does anyone know how much the 885's will lower with about a 90lb bumper plus a winch added? Or 887's? I would go with 886 but just don't really want a harsh ride...

    I bounce it offa stuff.
I've got a CBI Moab (125 lbs) and a Superwinch Tigershark 9500 on 885's. I didn't squat very much at all, if any (no measurements, sorry), and the ride feels more smooth and planted than with the 885s and stock bumper.

About how many inches did you gain going with the 885's and the front bumper w/ winch? I assume about 2"-2.5"?

Front ARB bumper, LR UCA's, OME 885/90021 struts, Ome shocks rear, general springs HD leaf pack.
So I pulled the trigger on my Ome front lift. I have a arb bumper and skid plate with no plans for winch. I went with 885/3/8"spacer/trim packer/90021/ and LR uca(hoping for 2-2.5" of front lift). For the rear I went with General springs HD springs and Ome 90061. (Expecting 1.5-2" of lift in rear).

So you guys think for 1-5~2 inches in the rear should I have gotten shims? Or would they be a pain to add later on if I experience problems?

Just removed front flaps. Check the backspacing on your wheels. It may also provide limitations. However I can't speak to yours since I am not familiar with them. I will say that I doubt you will have to do much trimming if any with 255s regardless.

I'm not an expert but I believe you may be ok without shims up to the 2.5-3 range. You will have to check your driveline after install to be sure.

It's only a pain to install if your center pins are not long enough to go through the shim. Then you have to install a collar to allow it to seat properly. Once you have the collar installed you can change out shims easily.

Well aslong as I can drive on it without destroying something I'm not to worried I guess. Then repair as soon as possible.

    Thanks!!!

I'm waiting for the winch... It should be here next week...

The ride is very stiff!!! I think that it will be better with the winch and of course I need to get used to it!

Hmm okay thanks. I am on the fence about the 886 vs 887. About to order in the next couple weeks, I have a relentless steel bumper and sliders coming and will add a winch shortly after. Not so much worried about keeping a full 3" lift as the ride becoming spongy with all the added weight. *sigh

I got 2" in the rear and have NO vibes. I suspect you'll be ok.

Go with 886s. I have an aluminum Relentless and winch with 886s and only have about 2.5" of lift. With the steal bumper you'll want the beefier coils.
