The staircase was actually quite easy, had problems along the trail from getting dug up and big rocks perfect for catching your diff.

I consider the obstacle the "staircase". There is the hard line which you speak of going straight and easy line going left. No one took the hard line, lol.

Your talking about the super hard line, lol. There was a jeep who had broken down, attempting that line.

This guy, lol. Maybe when I get a 40 or 4R like my brother. For now the 80 stays more expo rig than crawler. Although Dusy and Hell Hole calls.....

Not sure where you live or whether you have 4wd, but there are a few trails for near-stock rigs in the Sierras.

Highway 4 has Sourgrass and Corral Hollow.

Off of 88, I think the lower Pardoe trail is fairly short and easy, but I haven't been there in many years. The upper Pardoe is temporarily closed for environmental reasons

Off 50, in the Sly Park area, there is Baltic Ridge trail, and Buckskin Joe.

Even in these easy roads, there could be very narrow sections due to overgrown manzanita, that are narrower than your truck. Expect scratches on both sides (aka Sierra pin-striping).

image.jpg image.jpg Ended up canceling since it was only me and another guy. Didn't want to risk going with the rain and neither of us have a winch. Ended up going to Hollister and had a good time. My friend has all the pics but I have a few.
