sputtering at start up

    96 single cab tacoma 4x4
    ok ,havin a problem w/ my 96 tacoma 4 cyl..when starting the motor starts and misses or sputters like a plug wire was off .however when i rev the motor the problem stops and motor runs fine till the next time its started.ok now here is the thing ...this issue started when i used a can of some cheap dollar store octane boost.im hoping its just a filter issue ....any ideas guys?:(
